Owner description: One of Fredericton’s most beautiful and historic areas, Officers’ Square was named one of the Top 10 Public Spaces in Canada! It was a centre of military activity when Fredericton was garrisoned by the British and Canadian Armies. During July and August, it is the site for outdoor summer concerts, the Changing of the Guard ceremony, daily outdoor theatre, and a variety of festivals and events throughout the year.

We did get a premium spot to watch the changing of the guard on the balcony of the museum in the square. It was interesting and the soldiers did well in their marching and piping and drumming.
There seemed to be a narrator (on speakers in the square) but from our vantage point we couldn’t hear it.
We appreciated the moment of silence for those tragically killed in Fredericton recently.

A real gem! Part of former British Amy complex in Colonial times. Birthplace of Canada's Armed Forces with small but interesting Museum onsite. Green leafy space, flanked by historic buildings and markers, with a statue of Lord Beaverbrook at its center. Great river views. Small concert and entertainment venue with rest facilities. 'Ground Zero' for Fredericton's annual Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival. A 'must see'.

Not as good as the Ottawa Changing of the Guard, but neat to see. Be warned, they shoot off the riffles and if you little one isn't expecting it, it's rather loud.

I heard the City of Fredericton is going to make this better, but at this point, it is basically a big empty square of grass. The changing of the guard is something to see - try to catch that in the summer months.

We have attended many events at Officer Square. It is a beautiful location and easily accessible. Officer Square hosts alot of local events as well as local artists. Check out the City of Fredericton fb page or website for details on upcoming events.
