“Best Brunch in Fredericton”
Reviewed 23 March 2011

This is my favorite place for brunch on Saturdays. I love their Alpine breakfast and Paninis, I have tried almost every dish on their brunch menu. They are all very good. I had dinner there a couple of times in the past year. They are good, but the brunch menu is better. The service is good and fast, even at their busiest hour. Palate also has a good wine selection. It probably has the lowest mark-up prices for their wine in Fredericton.

“It wasn't just lunch, it was a tastebud experience”
Reviewed 26 January 2011

I've eaten at the Palate several times and have never been disappointed. Yesterday, January 25th, 2011 they had an incredible curried potato and roasted red pepper soup with a chicken mushroom melt sandwich on toasted foccia bread with a small mixed salad on the lunch menu. Incredible!!! It's not often that a restaurant can get it right every time but the Palate seems to have an excellent track record. The restaurant is very clean. The chef is visible from the dining area yet non intrusive, hope he can see the many satisfied faces if he ever has time to look out into the dining room. The staff is always friendly and seem happy you've chosen their restaurant. Bathrooms, always clean. I do eat at other restaurans in downtown Fredericton but always most happy when we go to Palate Restaurant & Cafe.

“Great Value for Great Food”
Reviewed 6 January 2011

Service: Quick and friendly

Decor: Felt like a home style restaurant. Nothing spectacular but the value of the food outweighs the decor by far!

Food: Honest. I had a seafood chowder (that was a meal in itself) and portobello burger. Both were mouth watering.

Review: My client suggested the place because he goes occasionally. Great suggestion on his part and great restaurant. I go to Fredricton once or twice a year. This will be my go-to restaurant.

Reason for stars: Great food with very good value. I was surprised that this little town had a restaurant that could produce food like this for this price. There probably isn't many places in Toronto that would have such good value.

“A gem for sure!”
Reviewed 26 October 2010

Don't let the website steer you away from this gem! The food was top notch, the service was great and the location is great.

The website leaves the totally wrong impression of the restaurant.. Go with the rating on TA .. It's well worth the visit !

“my favourite lunch place”
Reviewed 26 September 2010

I haven't had dinner at the Palate for quite awhile, so I can't comment on their dinner menu. For lunch, though, I've been here often and I don't think that you can beat the Palate. They have wonderful panini sandwiches that are served with their tasty soup of the day (always a nice surprise...you might have a curried vegetable soup or a ginger and carrot or just a regular vegetable soup and they are all just great!). Their side salads also come with a nice light vinaigrette.

Their stir fries are also tasty and affordable. You can build the stir fry, so that you can have it with rice or quinoa, with meat or tofu, and you also get to choose the sauce. I highly recommend the coconut curry flavoured stir fry.
