I stayed at Tait House just recently. The Inn was the site chosen for meals and business for our group of 20. Most rooms were occupied by our group, some accompanied by spouses. Others stayed at nearby B&B's. From greeting to departure, the entire staff exemplified calm and reassuring expertise regarding every detail that arose.Maritimers have a way to calm all crises. The cuisine was superb, the rooms comfortable and the wine list more than adequate. This proprerty is an original old home, so it can be a bit noisy if kids run around in the early morning. Notwithstanding, I was able to resume sleeping, because the beds are superior. All in all, more than I expected. I would definitely return.

I took my husband to Maison Tait for his surprise birthday getaway night. The night was fantastic. Check-in was speedy and so personal (the chef himself checked us in and gave us advice on where to eat for lunch...which was a short walk from the inn and we were delighted with fresh, local gourmet lunch in a quaint setting).

Our room (I booked one with a Zen bath tub right in the bedroom space!) was amazing. Gorgeous decor, big 4 poster bed, fireplace...wow. We some how lucked into the evening being a special event in the dining room…lobster festival. We ate 4 courses of divine food with lobster in every course (including dessert!!). The wines were perfectly matched…the servers were well informed, gracious and very friendly.

The next day we had to leave early...before brunch started (and our booking included brunch). The chef actually did us up a fruit and yoghurt platter…fresh baked muffins and hot coffee. All of which he personally delivered to our room!!

This place is a gem…treat yourself to a stay here for sure.

This was my second time staying at the Tait House in Shediac and I would definitively go back again. The building itself is gorgeous and the rooms are comfortable and luxurious. The food in the restaurant downstairs is absolutely amazing. Both meals I've had there are among the best meals I've ever had.

I find the comments by the individual who had her reservations cancelled by the Tait questionable - I would like to hear the Tait management's side of that story.

We recently stayed at the Tait for 2 nights and our experience was nothing short of perfect. The room was well appointed, extremely comfortable and very clean with everything in perfect working order. The beds and linens are 5 star quality and the decor is a lovely blend of traditional and contemporary with all modern amenities provided, including a 6 foot soaker tub, electric fireplace, multi-nozzled shower and very comfortable seating. The Tait's hostess was very attentive to our check-in and followed up with us later to ensure that our every need was fulfilled. We dined in with friends on our second night and thoroughly enjoyed a dinner that was beautifully presented and delicious - one of the best meals we have had anywhere and the service was impeccable. The Tait is justifiably proud of their chef. The Sunday morning brunch was excellent as well and we found that every member of the Tait staff we encountered to be attentive and professional.

The Tait is well located and provides expert service with first class accommodation. This is NOT the old Chez Francoise with a little makeover. This is a whole new deal!

Having stayed at many 4 to 5 star inns and B&Bs throughout eastern and Atlantic Canada, it is rare that we choose to return to most of these establishments as we are always eager to try something new. The Tait is one of only a handful that we will definitely go back to. Go, relax and enjoy!

Think twice about booking at the Tait!! In January, I had booked ALL rooms of the B&B for my in-laws flying in from the UK for my August wedding. Despite the deposit being paid, the staff - unapologetically - cancelled the booking as a fait accompli upon news that they could make more money with another wedding. Now, with only a few months to go, I am left scrambling through the area to find suitable accommodation. The Tait, as a business, has proven to be morally questionable at best! I advise you to go somewhere where your reservation will be honoured.

We had a very large and attractive room with a gas fireplace -- very nice. Bed coverings pure white and luxurious. Wonderful restaurant -- the New Zeland lamb was fantastic. Maison Tait also has a good location in town.

Good wireless internet access in room.
