What an absolutely lovely place to stay for a visit. This Inn is old and has so much character and history. It is also very well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. The executive suite we were in was perfect for me and my partner and his mother. The adjoining bathroom was between the two bedrooms and it just worked out perfectly. The sitting area was comfortable too. Beds were amazingly comfortable and we all slept well. I highly recommend.

My wife and I stayed two nights at the Glynmill Inn. It is and old historical building and is well kept. The room we were in looked fairly new. Employees were courteous. They have a very nice dinning room, however breakfast is not included. They also have elevators so you don't have to carry your luggage all the way up..

We spent 3 nights in the Glynmill Inn. The quaint old inn, is next to a beautiful little park that you can walk through to reach the center of town. Right next to the Inn is the lake in the park with its beautiful swans. The swans live on an artificial island int he middle of the lake and when the weather is calm, they are perfectly reflected in the lake. You can walk down through the park to the center of town.

We ate our first night in the Wine Cellar and the next night in the "Dining Room". We preferred the food and the ambiance in the dining room to the wine cellar. If you are a party of two and go early, you can get a table by the window in the dining room. The mussels are superb - large, fresh and in a wonderful sauce. If you order them, be sure to save some of your dinner roll to soak up every last bit of the sauce.

Our room in the new wing was comfortable and the internet was reasonably fast.

This is a 'period' hotel, located in a historic building that dates from the 1930s (the 1920s original was badly damaged by fire). On the outside the tudor-style timberwork is all beautifully preserved, and the interior layout and some of the decor is also original. On the other hand, other aspects of the decor seem to date from whenever it was realized that the place should be maintained and preserved indefinitely, so some aspects are more 1960s than 1930s (plus the installation of safety features such as sprinklers). There are also some real peculiarities, such as the paintings in the dining room where wall lamps have been screwed directly into the paintings without any apparent regard for their artistic value. The front desk was extremely helpful at check-in, and with regard to local info, but was undermanned (only one person on duty most of the time). The breakfast service and quality were a bit iffy, with day to day variations in basic items, and annoying small details like the butter being too hard to spread: but the dining room is at least a pleasant place to linger, if you ignore the lamps issue, and the rooms are comfortable and well kitted out. On the other hand, this place should be a historical gem, and it doesn't quite measure up to that description.

Thank you for your detailed review.
Our hotel is certainly older as you indicated, dating back to 1923.
The sprinklers are required and can save our “Heritage Structured Landmark”.
As for the murals in the dining room; an artist by the name of Stewart Montgomerie, borned in Scotband returned to Corner Brook in 1961and became artist-in-residence for Bowater's (presently Corner Brook Pulp & Paper Mill). Mr. Montgomerie completed the paintings in the early 1960’s and I am unsure as to if the lights were present at the time or not.
I apologize that the butter was still chilled at the time of service and you weren’t overly pleased with your breakfast. The front desk reception does usually have a minimum of 2 people with the exception of an employee's coffee and meal breaks. Again I apologize if you were delayed service. Your valuable feedback is appreciated as we built our success on the quality of product and service that we provide all our patrons.

Amazing how an almost 100 year old hotel still cuts it today.Numerous renovations, addittion and improvement later, this "old Lady" has a charm, efficiency and looks like no other
Starting with a super efficient and friendly front desk, excellent food and service and an unique atmosphere. And then there is location;in downtown Corner Brook within a 5 min walk of Restaurants, pubs,Timmy's you name it
Presently to ask for a quiet room at the back of the hotel may not be the best for there is a huge road (sewer) construction project going on
Don't forget the charming walk around the lake in front of the hotel
