I went on this walking tour with a good friend of mine who was living in St. John's at the time. We both loved it. The tours take you all over the downtown area of St. John's, focussing on the area near St. John the Baptist Cathedral, away from the rowdier parts of Water and George Streets, and other areas frequented by tourists. I loved this tour for the varied stories the tour organizers chose to interpret, from heartfelt to truly creepy. And I mean interpret. The tour organizers come dressed for the part and are performers in the various theaters in St. John's. So take a break from the partying and drinking at night, and really treat yourself to another way of educating yourself about the history of St. John's, you'll love it, and the fee is very reasonable.

if you get a chance to take part in this night tour DO IT.
very interesting history of downtown st. john's darker side.
tour takes you through older parts of downtown, including small alleyways that I didn't ever see b4.
for the small fee, def. worth taking part in!

Loved the hike. From Boston, MA - we went with our friends from St. John's - and even they were spooked. It was great fun...perfect night - and now I'm freaked out walking most of the spots they pointed out! Good stuff...time and money well spent.

Great time. Full of history and chilling tales. You get to see some small nooks and crannies of the city most don't bother with.

The St. John's Haunted Hike takes you on a guided walking tour of downtown St. John's while regaling you with tales of the darker side of St. John's history - tales of ghosties, ghoulies, sinners and saints. The knowledgeable and entertaining guides are fun and friendly, and you'll never see these corners of downtown St. John's on your own! It is a walking tour, though, and there are many hills in St. John's, so come prepared with good walking shoes and for any weather - in Newfoundland, they say,"If you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes!" The Hike departs from the Anglican Cathedral at 9:30 every night from Sunday to Thursday, rain or shine - it's best on a foggy evening - very creepy! May not be suitable for very young children who might get scared easily, but for $10 a person, this tour is the best bang for your buck around!!
