“Decent Holiday Inn with easy access to the airport”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 February 2012

As a platinum priority club member was upgrade to the executive floor with the feel of a King jr. suite - small sitting area, desk and large flat screen.

Also receive a welcome package from the hotel with a bottle of water and some treats.

This hotel is close to the airport but I have never heard any planes with my many stays over the years.

Exterior of the hotel appears warn down slightly and could use some updates. Inside is clean and oddly laid out.

I usually stay here for easy access to the attached restaurant (east side mario's but it is overpriced, as I find the hotel is over priced)

I'm always treated well and feel welcome by all staff.

Nice Hotel, clean, professional helpful staff, a bit over priced in Town, free easy parking, central between malls and the Airport.

Room Tip: Choose pond facing rooms on the 5th floor, they are the best!!

We were sent here after some flight delays, so keep in mind that we paid nothing for the room and were there only for 6 hours. I'm not sure what the going rates are for this hotel but if it is under $100 then it's well worth it. The check in staff were very friendly. This hotel is about five minutes from the St. John's airport but there isn't much else nearby. That said if you're visiting St. Johns you would most likely be hiring a car anyway. So this shouldn't be too much of an issue.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable and in keeping with Holiday Inn standards. The bathroom was horribly small and very inconveniently split up with the tub and toilet on one end and the wash basin on the other end. You had to leave the bathroom to go out and wash your hands! ODD! The room was well equipped with a fridge, tv, wireless internet, coffee machine and an iron.

We had two double beds in our room and there wasn't much space to move around. Avoid East Side Marios for breakfast if you can!

The hotel is average. The rooms are big and clean. The beds are soft. Almost too soft. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything in the next room and hallway. Unlike most hotels in this class, breakfast is not included and is quite pricey at the attached East Side Mario's restaurant. There is a coffee maker in the room, but unfortunately no tea bags for non-coffee drinkers. There was a basket of goodies in the room you could pay around four-times the market price. The hotel is not really near anything, so if you don't have a car it's difficult to get around. There is a taxi queue outside, so you rarely have to wait for a cab. It's about $15 to get downtown.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for one away from the elevators and the conference rooms as you will hear everythin...

The common areas of the hotel are a bit tired and dingy, but the room I had was fairly recently renovated, spacious enough, and very comfortable. The hotel restaurant (East Side Marios) is nothing special, but there is nothing else close enough to walk to. The hotel makes its gym sound a lot better than it is, but you can get a basic workout done there. The thing I disliked the most was the inconvenient location (close to the airport and the university, but not much else).

Room Tip: As for a room with a balcony. My room on the third floor (354) had one.

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip and I was not disappointed about my choice. Hotel is a little far from downtown but still well located. The attached East Side Marios makes it a nice place to stay after a long day since you don't have to leave the hotel for great food. Room was very clean and very comfortable but the best asset of this hotel has to be the staff. Rarely have I seen such great people, all willing to help out with everything. Right from check-in until I left the hotel, I have experienced great friendliness that made it a special stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody. Price was fair for the stay and I will most likely be back there on my next trip on this part of The Rock.

Nice hotel overall. Outdoor pool, balconies, and proximity to walking trails make it a very nice place to stay in good weather. Restaurant on-site, good location city-wise (fairly close to lots of "touristy" things right in the city, including higher end as well as "average people" shopping. Also decently close to the airport. Downside is no indoor pool, but if you're pumped to swim in the winter the Aquarena isn't too far away.
