Inn of Olde Pub
Ranked #2 of 18 Nightlife in St. John's

You will go back in time through a portal called The Inn of Olde. Your travelling companion and barmaid, Linda is by far the most friendliest person in town. Picture all of your grandparents old trinkets plastered over the walls of the 7 foot ceilinged rooms, cool old local music and cold beers. Don't miss this place and make sure to give Linda a hug!

The concierge at the Sheraton hotel told us that when we are in Quidi Vidi, we must stop in to visit Linda's Inn of Olde, if not only to see the quaint bar but to meet a wonderful lady. So after our dinner at the Mallard Cottage, we stopped in to see Linda's place. Well what a treat! Linda is a petite lady with a heart of gold and a personality to match. Within a few short minutes, she had us laughing and we felt like we knew her for ever. She told us stories about herself, her struggles, a three time cancer survivor who was planning yet another dragon boat race and her sudden acquired talent for painting. She is a remarkable woman and makes everyone feel at home. You must stop in to see her bar, full of memorabilia and of course to meet Linda!

Do not be spooked as you walk in - yes it looks and smells like you are in someone's basement but you are. The drinks are cheap and the service is great (especially if you are lucky to have Ruth in the summer who will tell you some amazing stories and share some wonderful Newfoundland love).

Great bunch of locals go there on a Friday night after work and are very welcoming to newcomers. It is odd looking and again, very much someone's basement turned into a bar but so worth the time to feel what it is like to be a local and to share in some wonderful people.

a most interesting little place to drink and slurp soup and have a wonderful time. The 100% opposite of the shiny new sterile micro-brewery across the street. This pub has history, strong drink and dust.
