For 2 or three couples, this is an ideal choice! Bedrooms were nicely decorated and spacious. Living room and kitchen great for socializing. Continental breakfast was good too. Location makes walking to downtown attractions easy.

Staff is very friendly and extremely accomodating. We will be back!

We stayed in Unit 1202. The room was quite small even for two of us with little space to move around. There was no couch or chair to sit on. The Hometel is basically a series of town-homes renovated into a hotel. I could hear every footstep from the unit above.
The housekeeping was erratic and one day, our room was completely missed out. The girl at the front desk, when told, shrugged it off and replied without a hint of apology, that the housekeeping staff were gone for the day. A few strong words from us brought the manager who cleaned and made up our room herself. In general, Hometel appeared very short staffed.
The WIFI connection was very unreliable and often completely unavailable.
Breakfast was ordinary with no daily variation.
The location is good. Parking in front of the units is limited but there is ample free parking at the rear.
It is a mystery to us how the Hometel is getting such good reviews!

This hotel had very nice rooms, new and clean, spacious bathroom. The breakfast was fine, just muffins, toast, yogurt, hard boiled eggs. The location is great. The parking here kind of sucked though. The key is to grab a spot and don't move your car for the rest of the day because once the spots get taken up it's hard to find one after that. If you don't have a car then no worries.

Room Tip: The parking here kind of sucked though. The key is to grab a spot and don't move your car for t...

We rented an entire townhouse (3 bedrooms with ensuite baths) at Hometel which gave us exclusive use of a kitchen, dining, living area and deck for our stay, The accomodations were nice, very comfortable beds, a huge well-equipped kitchen. The finishes were a little tired but the place was clean and the daily cleaning service was great. The included breakfast at the hotel's office a few doors away was plentiful and the cheerful staff were happy to supply us with coffee and muffins to taken back to our rooms. The location is great, an easy walk tondowntown but slightly outside the fray, at the foot is Signal Hill. I'd gladly stay at Hometel again.

I spent one night at Hometel during a short stay-over in St. John's. It was recommended by a resident of St. John's. The location was excellent, just a few minutes (less than five) from the main downtown streets. Well priced for a very clean pleasant room (bit on the small side for a couple) and immaculately clean bathroom. My room was quiet and felt very private. Nice Do It Yourself breakfast with sufficient choices available to have a substantial meal to get you through much of the day. Free parking, Internet and telephone calls within North America, so no annoying add-ons. Lovely to stroll up Signal Hill to Cabot Tower.

We spent 6 nights at this facility on a combination business/pleasure trip. The rooms are immaculate and quiet. You do have to exit the townhouse to go to the main reception or to the breakfast (self-serve) area. Although a small way away from downtown it's worth the walk (15 minutes). Complimentary breakfast is provided. Manager Norma is attentive and welcoming. If you dislike the cookie-cutter hotel feeling this is the place to stay. Modern, clean, and well located.

Room Tip: There are no elevators in this townhouse-like facility so if you have trouble negotiating stairs ask...

It's nice - beds very firm though, Think about it as your friends bedroom in a two year old spec house - you know the single guy who doesn't think its bad to leave the fry pan laying on the stive for a week. "breakfast area" stinks of burnt bacon as the cooker is left uncleaned sitting on the counter with yesterday's muffins and stale bread (this is at a 7 pm check in). The interior designer has a good visual sense however does not value the power of halogen lighting - man is this suite HOT!!. The bath room has three 100w halogen lights - radiation burns anyone ? ;)

I have been in the room with the air conditioner on now for 2 hours - still 38' C with all lights off exceptTV... and this is night and the outside temp is 15c. Heat rises - so bring your bikini as nighty toon stay on top floor . SO it's clean etc.but would i stay here again - probably - not. Undecided. But the real hotel is really looking good .. for the rest of our stay

Room Tip: Ask for main floor - cooler.
