The room was quaint, comfortable but a little overpriced for the size. Was not impressed with our initial greeting from hostess ... needed to ring doorbell as I was told they didn't want just anybody walking in, and when I introduced my husband, there was no real welcome. A smile would have been nice. Upon entering our room, we sat down to read their "welcome statement" and on the very first page, they ask if you would like to own and operate the B&B (??) That alone implied that they were not too happy to be doing what they are doing, or are just tired and want to move on. All in all, it was not a bad stay, just different from other B&Bs that we had stayed at during our 3 week east coast trip.

Room Tip: Comfortable, clean and quiet.

Service that was far above and well beyond the norm. Breakfast was a delight w/ edible flowers from their wonderful garden! Well situated - perfect for taking little walks around the very quiet town. Didn't even pull out my computer to check emails! Enjoyed the Writers' Festival there. The upstairs of the nearby Dory Shop Museum is amazing.

Cooper's Inn is most definitely going to be one of our favourite locations during our holiday even though we still have a couple of weeks to go. It's a most charming, well decorated venue and you can see and feel that the owners give it their best to make the guests feel at home. We didn't book one of the biggest rooms - which would be something to consider next time - and showering in the bath tub wasn't the most convenient thing to do, however this all added in a way to the historic atmosphere of this B&B. Breakfast was the best one so far during our trip, and we can say it's probably in our top five ever as well. The fact that it's chosen from a menu and served at your table is superb. Last but not least the price was very good for what we got, and most certainly compared to other places where we stayed with an experience that was far from this one. Keep up the good work Cooper's Inn!

Room Tip: Take a bigger room, and check the bathroom facilities.

Shelburne is well worth a visit with beautiful harbour which the Coopers Inn overlooks. Its a thoughtfully presented Inn in a really nice period house with a lovely garden. The room had everything we needed and was very tasteful (including a massage chair!). Breakfasts were very nice and location couldn't be bettered.

My husband and I stayed here for a night with my parents, my brother and his wife (each couple had their own room). The rooms were clean, fresh, the perfect temperature, private and comfortable. Ours (the Smith room) had its own door leading to the cute patio/garden in the back of the hotel, where the six of us sat late on Saturday night, drinking a bottle of wine and watching the Parade of Lights on the harbour (lit-up sailboats, part of Shelburne's Founders' Days).

When you arrive in your room on the first night, you're greeted by a complimentary bottle of local wine, chocolates and packaged shortbreads. The soaps in the bathroom are gorgeous. There is a Keurig Coffee maker in every room. The breakfast is delicious and generous, made to order and piled high with fruit. It's always accompanied by a basket of fresh breads or muffins, coffee or tea, and glasses of OJ with cranberry juice. I've had better breakfasts at other B&B's, but this one is in the top 10 for certain.

The innkeepers are friendly, but not overly so; they give you your privacy. I can imagine this would be a very romantic place to holiday for couples, and I would HIGHLY recommend spending two nights, taking a day to explore the town and surrounding area (excellent seaside drives abound), and having a meal at Charlotte Lane restaurant (just a few steps from the Cooper's Inn).

Our only complaint is that they do not allow small dogs - which we completely understand, but in a perfect world, they'd be open to it.
