We loved it! My wife called our room, "The Garden Room", because it opened on a beautiful garden. The owner's attention to detail, hospitality, and frienliness were outstanding. We recommend it highly. A beautiful place.

The room was quaint, comfortable but a little overpriced for the size. Was not impressed with our initial greeting from hostess ... needed to ring doorbell as I was told they didn't want just anybody walking in, and when I introduced my husband, there was no real welcome. A smile would have been nice. Upon entering our room, we sat down to read their "welcome statement" and on the very first page, they ask if you would like to own and operate the B&B (??) That alone implied that they were not too happy to be doing what they are doing, or are just tired and want to move on. All in all, it was not a bad stay, just different from other B&Bs that we had stayed at during our 3 week east coast trip.

Room Tip: Comfortable, clean and quiet.

Service that was far above and well beyond the norm. Breakfast was a delight w/ edible flowers from their wonderful garden! Well situated - perfect for taking little walks around the very quiet town. Didn't even pull out my computer to check emails! Enjoyed the Writers' Festival there. The upstairs of the nearby Dory Shop Museum is amazing.

Cooper's Inn is most definitely going to be one of our favourite locations during our holiday even though we still have a couple of weeks to go. It's a most charming, well decorated venue and you can see and feel that the owners give it their best to make the guests feel at home. We didn't book one of the biggest rooms - which would be something to consider next time - and showering in the bath tub wasn't the most convenient thing to do, however this all added in a way to the historic atmosphere of this B&B. Breakfast was the best one so far during our trip, and we can say it's probably in our top five ever as well. The fact that it's chosen from a menu and served at your table is superb. Last but not least the price was very good for what we got, and most certainly compared to other places where we stayed with an experience that was far from this one. Keep up the good work Cooper's Inn!

Room Tip: Take a bigger room, and check the bathroom facilities.

Shelburne is well worth a visit with beautiful harbour which the Coopers Inn overlooks. Its a thoughtfully presented Inn in a really nice period house with a lovely garden. The room had everything we needed and was very tasteful (including a massage chair!). Breakfasts were very nice and location couldn't be bettered.

My husband and I stayed here for a night with my parents, my brother and his wife (each couple had their own room). The rooms were clean, fresh, the perfect temperature, private and comfortable. Ours (the Smith room) had its own door leading to the cute patio/garden in the back of the hotel, where the six of us sat late on Saturday night, drinking a bottle of wine and watching the Parade of Lights on the harbour (lit-up sailboats, part of Shelburne's Founders' Days).

When you arrive in your room on the first night, you're greeted by a complimentary bottle of local wine, chocolates and packaged shortbreads. The soaps in the bathroom are gorgeous. There is a Keurig Coffee maker in every room. The breakfast is delicious and generous, made to order and piled high with fruit. It's always accompanied by a basket of fresh breads or muffins, coffee or tea, and glasses of OJ with cranberry juice. I've had better breakfasts at other B&B's, but this one is in the top 10 for certain.

The innkeepers are friendly, but not overly so; they give you your privacy. I can imagine this would be a very romantic place to holiday for couples, and I would HIGHLY recommend spending two nights, taking a day to explore the town and surrounding area (excellent seaside drives abound), and having a meal at Charlotte Lane restaurant (just a few steps from the Cooper's Inn).

Our only complaint is that they do not allow small dogs - which we completely understand, but in a perfect world, they'd be open to it.

Shelburne could do so much more to attract tourists! The town has a rich history, with many attractive, old buildings. But it is sadly lacking in options for accommodation and restaurants. Coopers Inn is well situated in the heart of that history. But it lacked a truly warm, welcoming feel. The room was small, but clean. Chocolates and wine on arrival was a nice touch. Breakfast was OK (choose from the menu), but was indifferent to food allergies.

Dinner options in town were very disappointing. Note, we stayed Sunday and Monday nights, when Charlotte Lane restaurant was closed (we understand it has an excellent reputation, but were unable to sample this). Two other restaurants/cafes were not opening until July. This left the Seadog Pub (not recommended), Loyalist Inn (not particularly inspiring), the Chinese and the Pizza takeout as our only options.

We at The Cooper's Inn strive to be welcoming and provide comfortable, quality accommodations. You will notice that this is commented on in many of our reviews. Our ample menu caters to most tastes, but it is difficult at times to accomodate multiple food allergies. Our rooms vary in size and price. You chose the least expensive and subsequently the smallest room we have....although The Smith Room is very popular for it's price and first floor location, opening on to our garden. All of our rooms can be viewed at our website [--]
Shelburne is a vibrant community with great restaurants, museums, arts centre and active waterfront. It is steeped in amazing history which comes alive many days a week with 200 year old military drills complete with musket fire and ladies and gents around town in period dress. It is unfortunate that you arrived early in the season and on Sunday and Monday when the town is quieter and Charlotte Lane Cafe is closed. If you should return to Shelburne, please give us an opportunity to show you a really amazing community.
