Lots of history in this Victorian restoration. Innkeeper has done a fabulous job of restoring and decorating. Other reviews do a good job of describing the Inn and Faith's style. Her past careers in teaching, the military, and auto mechanics reflect in her approach to inn keeping. Menus of local restaurants are provided and she is more than happy to make reservations. Breakfast is served with detailed explanation of such victorian customs as knife holders and small bowls to hold used tea bags and other "garbage". (What a giggle!) We wondered if some stories (the tale of "Lazy Susan") were apocraphyl, but one does not question that aspect of the experience.

Website for the inn does an excellent job of describing the rooms.

We booked a three-night stay in Annapolis Royal as part of the return from three weeks in Newfoundland in a camper van, thinking that it would be nice to enjoy the comfort of a bed and room that were *not* on wheels. We'd had a great time camping in Newfoundland, but our time in Annapolis Royal and especially our stay at the King George Inn were definitely a highlight of the entire trip.

The accommodations were excellent and the service was terrific. The innkeeper, Faith McStravick, really made us feel at home. (She even deployed ballons and suitable music when she learned that we were celebrating a 45th anniversary!) Each evening, we were able to schedule a breakfast time convenient for us. The breakfast menu was nice and healthful, including local produce and homemade lowfat muffins. Since it was our first visit to Annapolis Royal, Faith's willingness to offer suggestions (and make reservations) for local attractions and restaurants was especially helpful.

Annapolis Royal and the surrounding area are beautiful. We hope to visit again and stay longer, and the King George Inn will absolutely be our choice for a great place to stay.

Room Tip: We were able to see most of the guest rooms during our stay, and they were all well-appointed.

We stayed for 2 nights. Had 2 large, comfortable rooms. When I asked the owner/hostess where we could have laundry done, she gave us pillowcases and told us to stuff them with laundry, set them outside our rooms and she would do the laundry. Who could ask for more?

This is an old b and b with a lot of character, including the owner Faith. She has a heart of gold, even though her exterior seems a bit gruff at first.

Would not hesitate to stay there again.

If you love cluttered rooms with antiques with floral patterns, you will love this inn. The two rooms were clean, a good size, filled with antiques and had updated bathrooms. We loved the small balconies of each room complete with table and chairs for early morning lounging. The host was outgoing and had lots of suggestions for sightseeing and going to restaurants in the area. The breakfast was good with rice flour pancakes, cereal, yogurt and toast. The palour has wonderful antiques including a 3D photo viewer and the front door is from the Halifax explosion complete with melted glass parts.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights, in the Duke of Edenbough room, and found Faith and the King George Inn to be very nice. As previous reports say, the Inn is lovely and clean, filled with antiques, an easy walk to the attractions in town. Faith will make reservations for dinner for you, gives you advice on things to do and see. Breakfast served both days was the same....dollar pancakes, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, fresh blueberries, muffins, granola served with beverages.

Annapolis Royal is a very interesting little town, with lots to see.... I would recommend this Inn with no hesitation !

We had a simply wonderful time at the King George Inn on our family trip out East this summer. The Inn is a a true Victorian experience right down to the proper etiquette for dining! Run by a retired schoolteacher, Faith, was both accomodating and informative. With the right mixture of humour and good 'ole-fashioned' rules, she makes the stay feel as authentically Victorian as possible.

We started out as guests, and left as friends. We will definitely be back!

We again stayed at the King George Inn both coming and going on our Nova Scotia trip, as it is convenient to the Digby Ferry. It was our fourth visit in all, two in 2008 and two this year.
The owner/hostess Faith keeps a clean and elegant Inn, which was a former rectory and still a lovely Victorian mansion. She spends lots of time seeking out tasteful antiques for well-appointed rooms. We always stay in the spacious and comfortable ground-floor Queen Victoria suite, mainly so my wife can use the jacuzzi. The room has its own outside patio off the bedroom, which now has a roof and it overlooks her verdant back yard.
Faith knows all the sights and restaurants in the area and will also book a whale watching tour for you on Digby Neck. Breakfasts are like sitting in Dickens' Olde Curiousity Shoppe as there are so many fabulous items to view while eating hot pancakes or a variety of other breakfast fare. The coffee is strong and "please use your knife holders," all part of the elegant table service.
Faiith is accomodating to the point that she stayed up one night while we were there to greet guests coming in off a late ferry and I found balloons in my room on my birthday! Wireless internet and cable television kept me busy while the jacuzzi was running.
Trips to the nearby tidal power station, the Port Royal French historic site and Fort Anne are recommended while there.

Room Tip: Keep kids away from some of the nicer antiques
