Thank you Puppet for taking the time to post your comment.

Our guests whether they are from our region or from a distance location are encouraged to slow down enjoy our God’s Country. Google Map calculated it is 15 minute walk to the Historic Gardens and 17 minutes by foot power to Fort Anne - we would recommend an old fashion Ice Cream Cone that can be purchase across the street from Fort Anne. The Annapolis Royal 18 Hole Golf Course is a mere 500 meters from our front door. Whether one drives or walks we ask everyone to practice road safety.

Very unassuming property on Highway 1, this motel was a great place to stay. We had a room with one double bed and a kitchenette complete with fridge, microwave, hot plate, dishes and sink. The room had been recently renovated and smelled and looked it. Laminate floors, which were very nice. Complimentary continental breakfast included hard boiled eggs, yogurt, breads, cereals, juice and coffee. Price was very reasonable, just about $100 with tax. I would go back next time!

We can only earn your business by trying harder! Thank you Linda for your kind words and allowing us to serve you.

SW Nova Scotia is somewhat off the beating bath but that is the charm with small family farms and shattered local fishing villages. We are constantly upgrading our rooms and one quarter of our 30 rooms now offer laminated flooring. Half of our rooms now offer 3 sheet duvet bedding, and all our rooms have bar fridges and microwaves. Guest as encouraged to choose rooms to their preference whenever possible. We have upgraded our WIFI and unless we have a busload of students most guest have few if any problems. Starting in July this year we will offer self-serve FRESH HOT WAFFLES in our complimentary breakfast menu!

May was too early to use our new heated salt water pool so please try to come back before mid-September to take dip on one our HOT LAZY DAYS OF SUMMER.

Our room had dead flies on a not so clean carpet. The room also had a funny smell. We were only there for one night, but had to leave at 6.20 the following morning. Although booked for breakfast, it was not available until 7.00 am and no substitute was offered. Other places sometimes make up a plate of pastries and fruit.
We could hear the people in the adjoining rooms, not pleasant at 3.15 in the morning.
They say it is 5 minute walk to Historic Gardens - it is a 5 min drive instead.

Room tip: Ask for a clean room

Thank you for your comment although we do not like negative comments we do find them far more valuable. First and foremost dead flies on the carpet and/or unpleasant smell are TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Please ask for another room. We did follow up on your complaint and we have to admit two flies had expired between our house keeper rounds and your arrival.
Our manageress Ms. Paulette Brown is outstanding in her efforts to accommodate all our guests but to reduce our rate because a guest needs to depart is unreasonable – our breakfast is complementary. However I can say that as a result of your suggestion I can say as of today if a guest informs Paulette of their early departure the following morning she will have for that guest by early evening a small paper bag with a selection of our breakfast items, i.e. English muffin, hard boiled eggs, cheese, of course all our room are equipped to brew your own coffee or tea.
As with the noisy neighbor – we can state that 98% of our guests are like you very quiet however we have notice that since Annapolis Royal does bring out the more romantic side of people – midnight passions sometimes overtakes the most reserved of our guest.
Thank you for your constructive suggestion

Thank you Luke for your comments. We are currently renovating Room #1- one of our 2 "Pine Rooms" with a Cannon Ball Queen-size Bed – we are replacing the propane fireplace with an electric insert to make it more pleasant. We are installing electric heated tiled floor in the bathroom and removing the wall to wall carpet and replacing it with new laminated flooring. The room will have a new TV, a small refrigerator and microwave, as well as our standard in room coffee and tea facility it should be finished in early November. The bedding will be white cotton sheets and feather duvet and five pillows. We continually upgrade our rooms as economics permit and we would encourage our guests ask for the new upgrade rooms especially in the now that the offseason begins.

We stayed two nights here whilst visiting Annapolis. On the plus side, it is clean and quiet, standing someway back from not a busy main road. We had a large room with two double beds. Somewhat perversely, the fridge was placed in front of the window on a coffee table. On the negative side, the rooms though clean are quite old fashioned, there is no view of Fort Anne at Annapolis as suggested and the breakfast wasn't brilliant. It was self service out of the fridge. The cheese slices appeared to be vacuum wrapped slices. However, there appears to be a very limited range of motel type accommodation in the area; the alternative is boutique inns.

Thank you Midlander for your comments on our establishment - I see you travelled in September and I am disappointed that we checked you into one of older rooms we do try to have our guests stay in the newer and upgraded rooms of which we have 9 currently completed and have plans for a further 7 over winter months. With regards to the fridge we did place fridges in all our rooms in September and have not had time to install the appropriate housing for all the fridges and clearly it is not acceptable to have them placed as you found it in your room. We have both positive and negative comments on the breakfast and are trying to find a solution that guests like you could find more appealing. I can say that the complaints we have had with our WiFi are history and we would like to see the Breakfast similarly become complaint free. Yes we are the only Motel in Annapolis Royal area and we are trying to be the best we can. We hope your travels may bring you back to our corner of the world and if you chose to stay in one of the excellent B & B’s in Annapolis Royal instead, then at least you will allow us to show how we have responded to your very much appreciated comments.
