Upon arriving at Halifax Airport on a late flight from Orlando, FL we drove 25 minutes to Coburg Place where we were greeted warmly at the condo by owner Shawn. His instructions were very informative. The kitchen ware and supplies were excellent! There Wifi was such a treasure for us. The view of the City of Halifax on the 16th floor was amazing. Situated across the street from Dalhousie University and within a 10 minute drive to the major historical sites and attractions makes this a royal treat. The breathtaking Public Gardens are likened to Victoria Gardens, British Columbia.
This clean city is a combination of old and new architecture loaded with history of it's unique Halifax Harbour position in World War I and II.
The Canadian Museum of Immigration depicts the genealogy of over 1 million immigrants to Pier 21 at Halifax Harbour between 1928-1971 and it is incredible.
The Maritime Museum on the Wharf is a gem as is the gorgeous cantilevered Public Library that boasts the best view of the City and Harbour. Have a cappuccino atop their outdoor patio and you will be amazed.
We explored most of their excellent museums and drove 3,000 miles mostly of their shorelines. The coves were so picturesque especially the south shore. The seafood chowder was our quest and they did not disappoint us. We stayed mid July to mid August and the weather was perfect.
We have hundreds of breathtaking pictures to treasure.
We definitely enjoyed our stay at Coburg Place and the warm hospitality of Shawn and all the Canadians we encountered.
