This is such an interesting museum! There are several hand-made ship models, made with such precision! The Halifax Explosion and Titanic exhibits were extensive and touching-an homage to those on sea and on land. We are a couple, but we saw everyone from children to seniors enjoying this museum.

There is so much to learn here. Great museum, with all the connections to Halifax with shipbuilding, the Titanic disaster and the tragic Halifax explosion of 1917. The aftermath of the explosion is vividly displayed with pictures and artifacts. I did not know that the Titanic disaster was linked to Halifax, so many bodies recovered are buried in Halifax cemeteries.

This is a gem of a museum: small but packed with nautical and maritime history. Good options for kids.

We didn’t plan much to do for our day in Haifax so when this museum came up on our search, we though we would check it out.
My kids (age 7&11) love museums and historical things so this was right up their alley.
It’s not a huge museum but you can easily spend a couple of hours there.
Our favourite exhibits were obviously the Halifax explosion and the Titanic. The kids loved checking out the large boats as well as the ship models.
Overall, we really enjoyed this museum!

My husband and I were looking to past the time we had between events and we decided to go to the museum. I’m obsessed with the Titanic and shipwrecks so it was a no brainer. The history and then models in this museum are excellent. I enjoyed myself and would recommend this to anyone, not just those who are obsessed with the contents like I am. We spent about two hours here. This gave us enough time to wander around.
