“Good food, a tad on the pricey side”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2011

Had breakfast at Cora's one morning, and it was good. I found it a bit on the pricey side, but the fruit was fresh so I didn't really mind. Fresh food, nice presentation but the decor of the restaurant was strange. Seemed almost like a converted daycare centre.....not a great interior decor.

“Like the rest of the chain, ridiculously overrated.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2011

This was the first Cora's I ever visited. After about 3 visits, I had quite enough of the place, but sometimes a friend will insist we visit. As always, there is a massive lineup for weekend brunch. It really is the same ol' bacon, eggs and waffles dressed up with a pile of colourful and fancifully-arranged bits of fruit. Besides a colourful menu, cleanliness, and the option of getting English cream, this place is far from the best brunch/breakfast place in Halifax. Some people are duped into believing they're eating a healthy meal because there's a strawberry and some melon slices draped over a sombrero-sized crepe stuffed with fat or sugar. Putting aside whether this is an amusing case of neurosis, it's hardly a reason to visit the overpriced and crowded Cora's. If that's not enough - the place keeps 1980s bankers' hours and closes mid-afternoon. Talk about taking your customers for granted. Not service oriented. Not worth going.

“Can't resist”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2010

Wow this place is ridiculous. I mean, I keep going there even if I plan not to go there. Just can't resist, and since I dislike bagels and don't like eggs for breakfast either I probably have nowhere else to go in downtown Halifax. I love everything they have, the service is excellent, and the stuff you get here is quite healthy too. I just wouldn't recommend the raspberry thingy, it has no fresh raspberries, only the rasp coullies which is too sweet. It's also a bit overpriced, like a lot of their menu items actually. You cannot really get something cheap here if you want a decent breakfast. All prices are around the 10 dollars, and it's probably worth it, but bad for my cash-flow since I keep coming back here.
