“KEEP AWAY!!!”
Reviewed 18 June 2010

After waiting an hour and half in the blazing sun (no shade) in the ticketing line, the line never moved. We tried to inquire what was happening and they had glitches with their computer/ticketing system. Apparently, other guests told us this has been happening a LOT, even inside the park at food courts. We had a 20 month old with us and finally left as the sun/heat was unbearable in a crowd of about 200 that wasn't moving. Line up was befre parkign lot and we got there way before opening!
Drive the extra 20 minutes, go to OKA or even better Saint Sauveur to avoid huge disappointment.

“What a great water park! one warning though...”
Reviewed 16 June 2010

Took the family to Calypso Water Park this weekend (June 13, 2010). The first open to the public weekend it was open. They have had private openings and trials but this was the first weekend it was open to the full public. We are a family of 37, 37, 10 and 6.

What a great place. It doesn't even compare to the other water park near ottawa or even to canada's wonderland.

The Good:
- HEATED WATER EVERYWHERE
- AWESOME SLIDES
- LAZY RIVER
- HUGE HUGE HUGE wave pool with very high waves (women, watch your tops)
- Extremely well set up
- Lots of picnic tables, lounge chairs and grass to park yourselves
- Lots of life gaurds
- Lots to do for all age groups (they have 2 kid sections, 1 for for kids under 4 and one for older kids
- Lots of lockers
- Lots of places to eat and get food (at reasonable rates, not crazy$$)
- LOTS OF PARKING... which comes with a warning, read below
- All picnic tables have umbrellas
- You are allowed to bring your own lunch and cooler (they check for glass)
- The rides they have are top notch
- Everything about the place is AWESOME

there is one but though...
This place has been built to take a lot of people. The parking lot was about 1/3 full the day we went, and by the end of the day there were line waits of 10-15 min. When the place is full, you can expect to wait a long time in the lines. They know they will have a lot of people and when you go, you'll see how they are expecting a lot of people with the length and amount of wait and line zones. It's not a fault of Calypso, they are least prepared for it.

Does it take away from the experience? Not on the day we went. We had a blast and ran up the stairs until our legs couldn't take us. But would I go on a hot weekend in the summer? Maybe not, or I would make sure I was there right at opening.

Does your heart race when you are going down the slides? OH YA.

Calypso brings out the kid in you. Plain and simple.

A couple of tips:
- Print your tickets at home to avoid waiting when you get there. They are slow at the gate
- Bring a picnic lunch, but no beer bottles or glass
- Hit the inner tube rides first as they get lines quick
- Hold on to your kids in the wave pool
- Bring sun block
- Don't be afraid to go when its not hot and sunny, the water is all heated

If you have questions, send me an email and I will answer.
