It's a short GO Train ride from Toronto, but it's a world away in terms of ambiance and scale. The journey alone is worthwhile as the novelty of the double-decker coaches and the views of the retreating city skyline and the great expanse of the lake shore provide constantly changing vistas.

Port Credit has a small village feel with the added bonus of magnificent bars, pubs, coffee houses and eateries, a bustling marina, expansive parkland with walking and cycling paths and shops a-plenty. It's also the focus of many cultural events and festivals throughout the spring and summer with the main street pedestrianized at every opportunity.

For a half-day trip away from Toronto, it's hard to beat!

Lots of stores, on Lake Ontario, Marina and river, lots of sailboats, Fall salmon fishing charters for BIG Salmon. Library, NoFrills Grocery walking distance to marina. GREAT PLACE TO SAIL TO FROM TORONTO, HAMILTON NIAGARA and spend the night

Was really impressed with what they've done with the area. Good walking area, good vibe. Great park right by the water with lots of restaurant choices. Couple of my favourites are Burritto Boys and Pappa Giuseppe's. Would avoid Souvlaki Port credit if you can which is disappointing in every way.

Especially in the evenings a visit to Port Credit is really worth it. Many nice restaurants with a good variety of food. We tried the The Pumpe House Grille Co. And a walk along the pier is wonderful.
