I only ever come here for the 2 for 1 special. You have to pay cash and buy a drink each. 2 for 1 deal is only on the full adult price.
They are rating this restaurant as a 'Japanese Restaurant'. I thought it was supposed to be a Chinese Restaurant. Maybe because they now have some sushi, they are calling it Japanese? Didn't see any tempura.
The reason I always came back was because of the snow crab at dinner. Up until my very last visit a few days ago, there was always snow crab offered. Often during the week, it was only on the cold dinner buffet, but at least they had it. On my last visit a few days ago it seems they have replaced the snow crab for some other useless crab. This new offer is by likes of imported from overseas. It is small, has no meat, tastes awful and is almost impossible to open. A waste of time and energy to even try to attempt. What goes on the plate is usually left for the server to throw out after one attempts to try and open. Even one of the largest pieces of the crab is so small and has such a hard shell, it is impossible. The little bit I got to try tasted weird and was a funny colour. Therefore, a waste of $ on the part of the restaurant. Very poor quality.

They offer a fairly good assortment of food; albeit always the same; never anything new. Same old, same old. I always enjoy their baked mussels with a garlic sauce and cheese. They go fast so keep your eye out for when they replenish. Fried calamari is good if you get it when it just comes out. Teryaki salmon is nice, beef tenderloin pieces at the grill, are nice as well. They even have carved roast beef. Their Chinese dishes are rather boring and 'soupy'. Always the same. They need to change things up a bit. Their cutlery is terrible here.
Not much of a dessert person, but a fairly large selection of premade squares and desserts. Something very much the likes of what you would buy in bulk at 'Costco'.
In conclusion, unless they bring back the snow crab for dinner during the week, I wont be back. Was good while it lasted.

I used to love this place. But not any more. Food has no taste, overcooked. Tempura is tasteless, or it s better to say you taste oil instead of vegetables. Ice cream feels like powder. Three years ago there was no room on weekends. Nowadays it is empty. I hope they will review a menu.

Pretty good selection of food. Buffet trays were regularly filled & temperature of the food was good. Price was $15.99/person. Not too bad. Food was just "ok"- none of it stood out as flavourful. The seafood soup (tofu & crab imitation chunks) had zero flavour. The desserts were seemingly all sugar free- I had the pecan pie & it didn't have a taste.( normally this is a sugar fix for me) I liked the selection of sushi & the food displays were nice. I missed seeing things I would expect such as chicken balls or egg rolls though. The service was quick and the restaurant was pretty clean. The bathrooms were cold- brrr. I'd probably not return. I prefer the Mandarin or Fork & Spoon.

Still the best deal around for AYCE Chinese food especially if you have the two for one/buy two drinks coupon. Lots of choice and fresh food: 4 soups, clams, shrimps, octopi, mussels, baked fish and shrimp, dim sum and all your Chinese favourites. Too many desserts to choose from and ice cream cones as well! Quick service on table cleanup, washrooms fine and roomy seating. Still our favourite place for lunch.

Imperial Buffet offers a variety of food from different Asian cuisines: Chinese, Japanese and Thai. Its' dessert buffet is more of North American type but it offers plenty. In general food is offered in abundance at Imperial Buffet. If you like to try several different dishes, Imperial Buffet is worth trying.
