“Weekend Getaway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

Stayed for 2 nights Fri/Sat March 30th and 31st.

I booked a 'Breakation Package' for 2 nights which included

breakfast each morning at Coco's restaurant (attached to the hotel), Breakfast was a selection of items which was enough for each person. You could add the buffet for a few extra dollars but after checking it out it didnt look very good at all.

Dinner one night at Coco's. Again you had a choice of about 6 dinner options. My wife had fish and I ordered Prime Rib. I ordered the Prime Rib Medium Rare and told her to empasize the (Rare). When it came it was (WELL) done. She went back to the kitchen and the cook told her that was the only selection I could get as they had no other. Not impressed with dinner.

Dinner in the revolving restaurant at the Skylon Tower. We went there about an hour before dusk and it was amazing. The food was a selection of about 8 items and neither of us were disapointed with our meals. Alcoholic drinks were not included and were not overly expensive. This is a must do on your trip.

Overall the price was reasonable as the extra cost covered your meals. The hotel could use some updates and the pool/spa was small and filled with kids. I think every hotel should have a few hours late at night for adults only.

Those are the only 2 good things to say about this hotel. And you can even question those. Like others here I was deceived into thinking this was a hotel with a view. This should be an automatic question you ask booking clients. Why would pay the same for a room without a view. Unless you consider the view of the parking lot a view. Although you can see the Skylon tower an hear the falls barely. Their ads are very misleading. I did not realize this was one of the cheapest hotels in Niagara. I can see why. I was looking for a romantic time in Niagara being our first time. I booked the package at the last minute because it was a surprise. Great deal and was one of few places because of the last minute booking.

We arrived to find a very aged building. Very humid and with unidentifiable scents. We were bombarded with people trying to sell us day trips etc. Ok, but annoying after saying no three times. When we got to room my pre arranged treats and champagne we not there. Had to call to front desk. We had dinner reservations at Skylon and had to leave before they arrived.
Great dinner at Skylon. Arrived back at room to find warm champagne and melted treats. Room was very noisy from outside machinery. Cleanliness not a priority at this hotel. Room was as basic as it gets. Wi Fi was intermittent. Decided to go to bar for drink. Could not sit at bar as the floor in bar had lifted so high that you had lift your feet 2 feet in the air. We were the only people there, I can see why. Fitness center was closed for some reason. Never even bothered with pool. Breakfast ok was just basic. Great Coffee!

Great location as it is close to several restaurants, which can get loud, and of course the falls.

This place should only be a last resort.

This is the first time my family and I actually went somewhere on vacation. I was a bit nervous when I booked 3 hotel rooms at a rate of $68 per night on kayak.com... Actually, the hotel turned out better than I expected! When you look at the front or back where the parking lot is, the building looks kind of abandoned. Once I entered through the front doors, the inside was beautiful. The front desk employees were so kind and they looked like they loved their jobs! We traveled from Brooklyn, NY to Niagara Falls, CA in 7 hours, so we came earlier than expected. Only one out of three rooms were ready so my family of 6 decided to put all our luggage in the ready room. The ladies at the front desk said that the remaining two rooms will be ready in a hour or less. So, we decided to go sight seeing. Right down the hill from the front of the hotel were the falls. It was breath taking! About an hour later we returned to the front desk and the lady handed us our remaining key cards. My husband and I stayed in room 522, with one king bed and a balcony. My three girls stayed in room 525, with two double queen beds and a balcony. My mother stayed in room 523, with one kind bed and balcony. All the rooms were clean and the sheets and pillows were fresh. The beds were extremely comfortable! Now, to the pool. We came Sunday and the girls wanted to swim right away! The pool closes at 10:30pm so the girls had a fun night. The pool was clean and there was a jacuzzi and sauna! Then, Monday the pool was closed because of construction they were doing all week in the pool area. The ladies at the front desk gave us an alternstive. Next door, there is the Holiday Inn's sister hotel, Quality Inn. The ladies at the front desk gave us a Quality Inn hotel card so we can use the pool for the week! It was great! The front desk workers made it feel like home! I would definitely come back here again!

The best feature of this hotel is its location within Niagara Falls, ON. You see a bit of the Falls from the sidewalk in front of the hotel. AND the Fallsview Casino is across the street. For all this, we got a GREAT deal: less than $100/night for the two of us including parking! We were there for one night on March 21st, 2012.

Unfortunately, as stated, the hotel is dated. The room needs an overhaul but the bathroom was fine. The king-size bed was comfy. We fortunately had a room on the 6th floor so do not know if you could hear people walking above you if you had a lower-floor room. We were near the elevator but the sound did not bother us. There is no breakfast included in the price. We had heard Coco's bar/restaurant within the hotel had great pizza but we opted to eat elsewhere.

The parking lot was well-lit and we didn't fear for any damage to our vehicle. I read other reviews mention that there might be a problem finding a place to park if you come in late. The staff at the front desk were all friendly and helpful.

If you are on a budget and going in the 'off season' this would not be a bad place to stay. It's a long walk down to the level where you can view the Falls and it would be a tiring hike back up, however. If you're into the gambling (I play only the quarter slots with a finite limit of spending--lol) but don't want to spend a fortune on the accomodation, this is an ideal place for you.

This hotel has had some recent renovations and the rooms are quite nice, big and very clean. Location is across from Casino Niagara with just a very short walk to the falls. We were on a 'Breakation Package' for 2 nights which included breakfast each morning at Coco's restaurant (attached to the hotel), dinner one night at Coco's and one night in the revolving restaurant at the Skylon Tower. Everything was perfect. The staff at the hotel and the restaurants are very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Best rooms are higher floors facing the casino.

We stayed at this hotel over March Break. It was clean and the staff were very accommodating and polite. Rooms were a decent size. My only complaint, although the parking was free, at times it was challenging finding a parking space. The hotel shares parking with a community lot and on the two occasions that we came home after dinner, we had to park at the far end of the lot, quite a distance from the hotel. The weather was warm and lovely, so it wasn't a big deal to walk, but we were worried a little about "security" that the car was so far away. Nothing to worry about, but theft or break-ins was on our mind.

We liked the balcony as it was nice to step out for fresh air. The hotel is close to the casino and just a short walk to the falls. About a 20 minute walk to Clifton Hill.

Good value for the money!

It is so nice to be at the falls and even nicer when it is a great hotel to come back to. It was so close and great to hear the falls from my balcony. Can not wait to come and if you like pizza then you will love their restaurant. The staff is really nice too.

Room Tip: Depends if you tower/falls view or pool view...either way you can not go wrong.
