“Incredible”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

Our room was impeccable with an incredible view of the falls and the casino whose lights changed colors all night long. Mezmerising. This hotel has a gondola that you can ride instead of climbing. Be sure to take it down to the falls or back. We never had to leave the room the view was so grand but of course we did. Clean and quiet accomodations. Beds Comfortable and a room safe and small refrigerator. Ice machine not far from our room. Walked to many attractions. Felt safe. Many restaurants nearby especially the Skylon tower which revolves. Also the Brazilian restaurant across the street so worth it!!!Parking rate high and long wait to get the car. No choice.Would go back in a heartbeat. Casino was so close too .Right next to the hotel.

Room Tip: Higher floors have best view. Pay the extra. You won't regret it.

Not only are the views of the Falls magnificent, but the hotel is walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was very good and the dinner was excellent. Wouldn't think of staying in another hotel in Niagara Falls!

Room Tip: High floors on falls side have magnificent views

I recently took a trip with my daughter and 13 month old grandson. We went to Niagara Falls CA. Oh my goodness. Because it was off season they up graded our hotel room to a King suite with Whirlpool tub on the 10th floor. The view was absolutely breathtaking. The staff and spa were wonderful. We used the incline tram to get down to tablerock Welcome center where we used our adventure pass to see the falls. This is a must see to any one. Especially those who want an amazing outdoor experience.

We decided to revisit our honeymoon hotel for our anniversary; this time with our 3 year old daughter.

We booked the 2-night spa package that included a fallsview room, 2 breakfast vouchers for 2 people each 1-$40 dinner voucher for 2 people, 2-48 hourWego passes, 1-$40 spa service voucher and 2 winery tour passes. The package is actually a great value when you compare it to the stand alone 2-night room price and price of the package items separately. The best part for us was that our 3 year old was free for breakfast, attractions and on the WEGO but not for lunch or dinner at the Terrapin.

Now, the food review. The Terrapin's menu prices are grossly inflated; our daughters burger and fries was $15. Appetizers range from 15-20 dollars (I recommend the Fried calamari with Chipotle Aoili as it was excellent). The entrees on the menu are nothing to write home about and they average $35-60 each. The same sides come with each meal, no choice. You are given a starch (mashed potatoes) and the vegetable that is in season (asparagus). My husband chose the pork chop and it was good. I chose the limited Prime Rib and it was good as well. Your $40 voucher will almost cover one adult entree not including the exorbitant taxes. As for buffet breakfast, the selection was extensive which is a plus when traveling with children. I did enjoy the omelet station. The food could have been kept warm at a higher temp. By the time you serve yourself and get to your seat, the food was lukewarm. The views at the restaurant are nice though trees partially block the view of the falls in all their glory. The service was excellent.

The hotel is the closest to the falls with amazing views and clean rooms that have quality bedding. We were upgraded (without charge) to a Superior King on the 18th floor with separate whirlpool and fireplace. The view from the room is breath-taking. The curtains are blackout and very much needed when the sun rises. I am not sure if there were extra towels added like I requested or if that was the normal supply; but we were stocked. The service at the front desk was excellent; the hotel staff was pleasant as well.

I booked a hot stone massage for my husband. Pricey even with the voucher but he absolutely loved it! While he partook in the massge, my daughter and I used the pool amenities. The whirpools (there are two) were great! I did not get a chance to use either the steam or sauna.

The negatives of this hotel:
Wifi is free in Lobby; pay 9.95 a day in room. With free wifi located practically everywhere these days (especially Marriott's competitors), I was very surprised this was a pay service.
Parking is $30 a day regardless if you valet or self park! This is highway robbery! Not to mention it takes 20+ minutes for valet to retrieve your vehicle.
The gift shop had swim attire and accessories for men and children but not for women (and it wasn't that they ran out)? I had forgotten my swimsuit and had to go out on the town to find one.

Overall: The hotel has the best views of the fall especially at sunrise and sunset, so romantic! The rooms and service were excellent. However, be prepared to pay!

Room Tip: The views on the 18th floor are amazing (but same views from about the 12th on up to the 23rd.)

We loved everything about this Marriott. We had a suite with a fireplace on the 12th floor and there was nothing lacking! The staff, from the minute we checked in, could not do enough to make our stay just amazing! The concierge in the upstairs lounge was so helpful in recommending area attractions to make sure to see and she was right on target! Thanks again Maria! Our view was spectacular!

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the view! Try to get in the middle of the floor.

I booked this hotel for a two night stay in October via one of their package promotions. I thought that the deal was amazing, until I arrived and then realized it was just a so-so deal. There are many pluses...the deal included a falls view room and since we got there early, they gave us a higher floor than our package allowed (floor 15). Our view was absolutely amazing. You can see both the Canadian and US falls from this floor! Also perfect for those who want to catch the night time lights on the falls and sunrise at the falls all from the comfort of your own room. The beds were super comfy too! So, no issues at all with our room! Another major plus is the included breakfast buffet (normally about $23 pp)! So much to choose from...delicious omelets, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, yogurt, croissants, fruit, deli meats, cereal, waffles, pancakes...oh my! The hotel itself is one of three (I think) that is located directly across from Horseshoe Falls complete with an incline railway (tram) to bring you straight down...at $2.50 each way or an all day of $6). There is a Starbucks in the lobby and the Terrapin Grill Restaurant, a spa and a fitness center (with pool). As part of our package, we received two $40 vouchers...one for the spa and one for Terrapin Grill dinner. Sounds great, right? Wrong! They jack up the prices so high in both places that you still end up paying more than you would at almost any other restaurant or spa. We didn't use either voucher and I honestly felt cheated! Two other things were included...a free WEGO pass (the bus that takes you all around the general area). Great if a) you don't already have a car (which we did) and b) you are there peak season (which we were not). Buses at this season (fall) travel approx. every 40 minutes...ridiculous! The other thing included was a free tour of Jackson Triggs Winery...only accessible if you have a car to drive there 40 minutes away. We didn't do this either because we heard that this winery was awful. Instead, we drove to Niagara On The Lake (about 30 minutes scenic drive) and hit a few of the wineries there. Delish! So, overall a great place to stay, but beware the "too good to be true" packages!

Room Tip: Don't even come here if you aren't going to make use of their amazing Falls view rooms. We...

Top tier Marriott, staff, room, parking, were wonderful. And the view stunning. Well worth the $40 upgrade at check in. Directly at the funicular, but of a walk to the main tourist stretch, but I'd take being right at the Canadian Falls for the view any day.
