I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 5 year old daughter for 2 nights with a waterpark package included. Check-in was very efficient and the clerk and bellman were very helpful and informative. Upon check-in we decided to upgrade to a fallsview room and it was well worth the money for a full frontal view of the American falls and a partial view of the horseshoe falls since they are further away. All in all the view was outstanding.
The room had 2 queen beds, sitting area with gas fireplace and a sufficient sized bathroom with tub/shower (it was interesting to see a TV in the bathroom - which was nice to watch when soaking in the tub!). The TV in the room was a large flat screen and was to good to watch in-room movies on.
The only con according to us was the beds. They appeared new but they were very, very firm. Therefore we found them to be a bit too hard for our liking - but others may like a very firm mattress.
For those of you with children be aware that there is no mini-fridge or microwave in the room. We travelled with our electric cooler in which we brought our own snacks and drinks. The cost of such things at the hotel are very expensive so it's best just to bring your own.
What impressed us the most was the customer service at this hotel exceeded our expectations. The bellman upon check-in was amazing! Her loaded ALL of our luggage on his trolly, he was very friendly and informative, and he even offered to take all our things to our room and plug in our cooler if we had elsewhere to go and did not want to go to the room right away! When we called about one of the TV remotes not working. Within 10 minutes a repair man was at our door and fixed the remote. On day two a houskeeping supervisor came to our door to make sure that we were happy with the housekeeping in our room and she gladly provided us with additional towels upon our request. All in all the customer service at this hotel is outstanding!
The waterpark was amazing and had slides for everyone of all ages! Our daughter had so much fun and we had fun on some of the larger slides as well. The only downfall about the waterpark is the Planet Hollywood cafe in the park. You are not allowed to bring any food into the park and this is the only place to get any food. We had lunch there and we greatly regretted it! We are not pick eaters and it is the first time that my husband returned his food (a hamburger). All the food tasted horrible, was cold, and very, very over-priced!
In the hotel we ate breakfast at the Sheraton Fallsview restaurant, it was buffet style. The quality of the food was average. Children do eat free so that is a bonus. For dinner we ate at the Rainbow Room which is supposed to be fine dining. The view of the falls from the restaurant is spectacular, but that's about it for the positive. The food was cooked well, but lacked any real flavour which one would expect from a fine dining restuarant. Also the kids meal did not include the sundae dessert which many other places do. Our daughter's dinner came up to $25 which is a bit excessive for a kids meal which consistented of very dry chicken fingers. So we were all very disappointed with dinner.
We really enjoyed our stay at this Sheraton for the excellent customer service, and we would probably come back for another waterpark getaway.

Room Tip: Upgrade to fallsview, starting at the 6th floor and up you will get a good view of the falls.

Very nice hotel. High end. Don't make the mistake of staying at the American Sheraton. It is run down. We stayed on the 22nd floor and the room was fabulous: large, with a little balcony, comfortable bed. Service was great. They brought extras (pillows, towels, etc.) whenever we asked. The hotel is within walking distance of all the attractions and is right next to Clifton Hill and the water park if you have kids.

We stayed at this hotel as we wanted to have a good view of the Niagara Falls from our room – it offered exactly that, actually better – we had an amazing view of both falls from our room, even lying on the bed! Listen to the falls at the night and wake up to the beautiful view of the Falls was a wonderful experience.

From our room we also had a great view of the town, the streets and the dinosaur park with Ferris wheel -- cheesy, but provided an interesting view in the night nevertheless.

We had a great time. Niagara Falls is an amazing nature’s wonder, highly recommended if you have not visited it yet. When you do visit, consider staying Sheraton on the Falls, do ask for a room with view to the Falls, and it is worthwhile to pay a bit more to get the view!

Room Tip: Book a room with view to the Falls, and it is well worth the money!

We had a nice view from our room of the falls, it was well worth the $ to see the falls in the day time and at night. We went on the wk end so we could be sure and see the fireworks. It is very central to everything, we could walk to restaurants, the falls, and to all the shops. We would def. stay there again.

Room Tip: get the highest floor you can, the lights on the falls at night are soo beautiful

It has been a few years since I stayed here, but the experience was nice. We decided to visit the Falls and Casino, which are both in very close proximity to the Rainbow Bridge. We went in later January and it was very cold...below 0 F not counting wind! There wasn't a whole lot to do as many of the attractions were closed for the winter, but the room had a great view of the Falls and the roar of the water lulled you to sleep at night. The rooms were comfortable and some featured an in room fireplace, although it was electric and was more for show...it was a nice touch. The Hotel connects to several other hotels and attractions including the Hard Rock and the Casino Niagara. A connecting hotel has a huge indoor waterpark open year round and can be visited without having to walk outside. The food was good and reasonable. The nice thing about going off season was that it was easy to get great seating at the best places. When we woke up each morning, the Falls were strangely muted until we looked out and saw that they were almost totally frozen, with the water flowing behind huge sheets of ice and everything coated with a coating of white frost...it was something very few will ever see. The nightly light show was great when combined with the ice and frost. The hotel wasn't too expensive and we had a nice time for an off season holiday...plus I hit a jackpot on a slot machine! I'd recommend this place as it is as nice as any and has a great view if the falls and is in the middle of everything.

Room Tip: The higher rooms have the better view, but it is a bit spooky if heights bother you!

I like to write reviews from an objective point of view but the truth is that at present I am feeling less than objective. I also believe that reviews are very much a personal thing based on previous experience and background. I am a 35 year old female from the UK that has been here and there on holiday. I am not loaded and neither am I searching for pennies down the back of the sofa so like to think I am with the majority of brits in a recession.

My husband and I are currently still at the Sheraton after a four day stay in Canada. Its our first trip over the pond and indeed to Canada. We arrived at the hotel and had to wait an age to get checked in due to he staff being somewhat slow. This in itself wasnt a major problem and eventually we werechecked in. Despite having asked for a high fallsview room on booking we were placed on the 6th floor (out of 22). I moaned a bit to the check in manager and were upgraded to the 22nd floor with a fallsview. I can't knock the room at all. It was clean, comfortable, air conditioned (and heated) and the views are spectacular.

We decided to to unpack straight away but to go and find a bar to unwind after our long flight. Mistake - the bar was shut. We found this odd but were told as it was sunday the bar wouldnt be open. We thought that it was fair enough, some people still believe that sundays are sacred. We went for a walk up Clifton Hill (or heart attack hill) and found an open sportsbar. A vodka redbull and a pint came to $16.50!! Ouch. We quickly realised that this trip was going to cost.

We ate in the a la carte restaurant that night. My husband had a ribeye steak and some sour dough bread (no veg or potatoes included), I had a steak and some chips and we shared a bottle of wine. The bill came to a massive $151.00! I mean come on.

The whole area is stupidly expensive and they take advantage of the tourists. We did visit a shopping centre that is 5 minutes drive in a cab. This was far cheaper but the cab round trip cost us $60. Ridiculos.

We have been truely fleeced thoughout our stay, even the the water placed in the rooms is $5.95 a bottle. Thankfully the tap water is drinkable. You get one tea bag which is earl grey for two people and thats about it. They make you pay for EVERYTHING!

On several occasions over the past few days we have wanted to have a drink in the bar but its never open. You have to go to the Hard Rock Cafe which like everything else is overpriced. We kept asking when the bar was open but the reception staff never know, actually, they are not much use,

Today I went for a massage in the spa. It cost me $99 plus tax and tip on top. I walked in and could barely hobble out. I will be making a complaint tomorrow but be warey folks, it really hurt. I complained to the reception staff but was told to go and tell the spa manager in the morning but they would get me medical assistance if I needed it. This is still a bone of contention and I am cross.

The area is one of stunning natural beauty and we came here for the falls but I wouldnt come back. Dont come here unless you have at least a grand (pounds not dollars) in your pocket. For children its very good but in winter things are slow to open.

On the whole we just wanted to see the falls and we did but I dont much appreciate daylight robbery or being battered by a spa therapist.

On the plus side, the hotel hairdryers are quite good.......!
