“Groupon Trip”
Reviewed 18 April 2012

Went with my boyfriend for three days during Spring Break (day after Easter & during Passover) with a Groupon. The deal was incredible and included free breakfast buffet, gift cards, etc. The view from the room was unbelievable. Had view of both American & Canadian Falls. Room is a little outdated but it didn't bother us at all because we were only going for a quick getaway and weren't in the room often. The Breakfast Buffet was yummy, no complaints. Didn't use the other amenities because it was Passover so we couldn't eat anything with yeast, wheat, etc. Allowed us to check-in early and they were super helpful! Also, if you're driving in, park in the Casino - $5 per day!

Room Tip: Ask for view of the Falls

If you want to feel like a king, this is your palace. Gorgeous rooms, comfy beds and amazingly spacious bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs...did i mention the view? From the 36th floor, the falls were simply amazing. Im guessing we went on a night where too many teens were drinking because one of them pulled the fire alarm, and at 2:15 AM we had to go down and then back flight 36 flights of stairs. I was upset in the moment, but overall the staff handled it quite well. And I wouldnt let something like that affect my rating, nor my weekend!

Try the Fallsview Restaurant, food was delicious, even for a vegetarian.

Room Tip: Higher floors are worth the extra money for the view

The hotel was excellent, we rented a two bedroom suite because we have 2 little kids and the space was very good, it was clean, the view was fantastic on the 39th floor and the location couldn't be better.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have a way better view of the Falls.

We recently redeemed a group-buy site package for this hotel and were quite pleased with what we got.

Because of its size, this hotel felt rather charmless (the ugly neutral décor didn’t help either) but it was clean and efficient. It also has a great location, close to the Falls and right across from the Fallsview Casino (the two buildings are actually attached by a walkway). It’s also about a 15-minute walk from Clifton Hill.

The hotel has a large pool, complete with a waterslide and a hot tub, that’s unfortunately overrun by kids (this hotel seems to be very popular with families). There also aren’t any change rooms, which I found odd.

We upgraded our package from “city-view” to Falls view, money that was very well spent. We had an excellent view of the Falls and I suspect that by upgrading, we also got a nicer room.

While a Jacuzzi and a king bed were part of our package, I wasn’t expecting a massive suit that came with a separate seating area, two TVs and an electric fireplace. While the décor was a bit dull, the room really was wonderful and most importantly, very clean and, after the outdoor music was turned off at 10 pm, completely silent.

Our package came with various meal vouchers, including one for breakfast. It was your typical big hotel breakfast buffet, complete with an omelette bar and a large selection of good-but-not-amazing food. While nothing special, this buffet did fill me up and I was surprised but pleased to see that the price (normally $15 during the week) covered beverages.

While there were plenty of free tables when we went down for breakfast at around 8:45 am, the place filled up quickly after 9 and people did end up waiting in line to get in.

Overall, this was a great hotel for a quick getaway from Toronto and I would stay here again, especially if I can get another discount package for it.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the falls

Our first visit to Niagra Fals and was not disappointed , the Hilton hotel was fantastic, travelled with family, had a suite with a jacuzzi bath tub over looking the falls, what a breathtaking sight to hold in our memories for a life time. Comfortable beds, great breakfast, gorgeous views and a stunning hotel to boot! An absolute must when visiting Niagra.

Okay, This hotel seems to get a lot of great reviews. So I felt confident that it would be a wonderful experience and fully worth the $200/night for a cityview room. First off, we got there early so we had to store our luggage as our room wasn't ready. (fine- that's to be expected). However, the bellman is nowhere to be found! We had to wait about 15 minutes while one of us waited by the bell desk and the other went to hunt down an employee to page the bellman. The front area where the bell desk is located was crowded with people just waiting... couldn't figure out why... maybe there was some tour picking them up? It was odd, and it felt uncomfortable like a cattle-call. Well, we return from wine tour and go to get our luggage out of storage and take it up to our room, and of course, no bellman. Another 15-minute wait. The guy came back stinking of cigarrette, so he was obviously on a smoke break. So far.... we aren't thrilled with the service...
Then we go up to our room. IT IS AN ICE BOX!!!!! FREEZING!!! We proceed to play around with the thermostat and realize there is no heat, only air conditioning. So, we call down. Oops! The "front desk" button on our phone is broken! After a few minutes of trying different buttons, we are able to reach the 'customer service hotline' and they connected us with the front desk. I told them our heating system is broken and ask to switch rooms as it was about 12 degrees celcius in the room. They put me on hold, then came back on and said that the building had been switched over to A/C due to some warm weather they'd had in March. THIS IS APRIL 7th IN ONTARIO!!!!! NOT WARM ENOUGH TO NOT HAVE HEAT IN THE ROOM!!!! So there is no option to switch rooms apparently. They offer to send up a heater. We're like... okay that works. But even still.... this is not worth anywhere near $200/night in my mind. So we go to dinner and come back to find a heater -and I'm not exaggerating- smaller than a shoebox. I have attached a photo. We laughed so hard but were very disappointed at the same time.

Later that night when we came back the room was not quite as cold, so obviously the mini heater did make a bit of a difference but it was still pretty cool in the room. The heater made a lot of noise so both of us woke up in the night and had to turn it off to get back to sleep. The beds were comfy, however the sheets on my bed smelled of men's cologne. Grossed me out but I was too tired to call down to get them changed at 1am. Who knows whether they even would.

When we checked out we compained about all these things and they were not willing to do anything for us.

So... needless to say, all these years I wanted to stay at the Hilton and I finally did, and it was crap considering what we paid. If it were $100/night, I wouldn't have even complained.

Room Tip: Unless it's summertime, bring a winter coat for when you're in your room.
