Jacuzzi was not too clean, no complaints otherwise wrt cleanliness. We took one of the weekend packages (Gourmet Package I think) that included wine tasting to four wineries, breakfast at the onsite Applebees (just ok) and one dinner at their steakhouse (good food). Great value, especially since our room had an amazing view of both the Canadian and American Falls, just ensure you ask for it.

We stayed as part of a travelzoo package that included dinner at Remmington's, breakfast, wine tastings, and wifi. The room was clean and comfortable, with a great view of the falls (11th floor). For $130 it was a decent deal and we had a good time. There were three drawbacks, two major and one minor:

1. We were woken up at 7:45am by an exceptionally loud noise coming from our ceiling that sounded like construction drilling and continued sporadically for 45 minutes. Maintenance said was probably rattling pipes from the shower above us. So no sleeping in.

2. The "$50 casino credit" specified in the travelzoo deal is NOT for the Fallsview Casino next door, but for the Senica Casino across the river in New York State! Looking now, this is mentioned on the hotel website among other package deals but definitely was not mentioned on the package we bought. We didn't bring our passports, so no free chips.

3. The hotel room lacked a fridge and there were < 15 TV channels.

Room Tip: Falls were definitely visible from 11th floor and above.

My husband and I stayed at the Oakes during the summer. It had a magnificent view of the Horseshoe Falls (the best Falls) and we also enjoyed a good view of the American Falls. We were fortunate enough to be there on a night where they had fireworks over the Falls---I was just disappointed that the fireworks didn't last long.

If I had to say anything negative about the hotel it would be that the air-conditioning in our room did not work and that we had to pay for wireless internet.

Room Tip: -make sure that you specify you want a room on the 9th floor or above so you have a good view of the Falls -unless you want to spend a lot of money, go eat in a less ritzy part of town---the prices at the TGIF restaurant next door were ridiculous!

Purchased the "Gourmet Package" off the Internet. For the price you can't go wrong. In checking in, while waiting, used the rest room and became a little concerned because it was not the cleanest I have ever seen but we were pleasantly surprised by our room. It was clean and beautifully appointed. THE VIEW WAS OUTSTANDING!!! The package was well worth the price. Would definitely stay again, but from the reviews, take the time and ask for a falls view room. We were on the 11th floor and felt the view was better than that on the 14th floor.

Our room was nice and very big although check in took quite a while. The bathroom was rather small but we managed. From our room we had an amazing clear view of the falls. The hotel does have a pool-if you can call it that. The pool was so small it was not even worth attempting to use it as the water did not look very clean either which was some what a let down. To get right up close to the falls it is quite a walk from the hotel and it is rather difficult on a hot summers day. There are also lots of steep hills which you should be wary of if travelling with a disabled person.
