“John and Vanessa's Scotish Delight”
Reviewed 28 September 2011

Arrived in this county setting to the warmest of welcomes. Just 10 minutes to the Shaw Festival Theatre and downtown Nigara-on-the-Lake and not much further to Niagara Falls. Lynne and Ken provided lots of humour as well as loads of local knowledge and information pamphlets to rival a Tourist Info Booth. Our spacious suite, with private accessible entrance, allowed us to entertain our fellow travellers. Ken's breakfasts included something for everyone, from fresh local fruit, to a hardy meal that lasted well into the afternoon. Can't wait to see next years Shaw Festival lineup and visiting with Ken and Lynne.

This bed and breakfast was extremely cute, and the host and hostess were both very friendly. They gave us lots of stuff about the town and coupons to try some of the wineries. I would 100% recommend this B&B. They offer a delicious breakfast, that changes day to day. For sure try this place out!!

Oh, and the beds were extremely comfortable!

This was my first time at a B&B and I absolutely loved it. Lynn was extremely helpful and informative. As soon as we arrived, she had given up a package that she had made for us (knowing that we were doing a wine tour of the area) with maps, things to see and vouchers for samples at the wineries. She also had a bike that we were able to borrow which was well appreciated. I really enjoyed the hot breakfast that Ken prepares and he tries his best to cater to the guests! Lynn and Ken were both extremely hospitable and charming, making sure we were comfortable and happy throughout our whole trip. I would definitely come here again!

Nothing speaks more then returning to the same place year after year. My husband and another couple have returned to Carbonnel 3 years in a row. Each time we are greeted with Scottish hospitality. We love the spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The breakfasts are delicious and they will cater to your likes and dislikes, you just have to let them know.
Lynne and Ken are so helpful with suggesting places to see and restaurants to eat in the area. We always have so much fun and share many laughs each morning. We just returned home from our annual trip and had an email from Lynne letting me know she found my iphone charger in the room and had it sent to me that day. Now that's hospitality!
We are so looking forward to our annual trip next year. Highly suggest you stay at Carbonnel if you are going to Niagara on the Lake!!

Our stay at Carbonnel was absolutely wonderful. The amenities were very clean and spacious. The dining room where we had our breakfast had a different theme each morning for the utensils, napkin rings, tea pots and table cloths, which was such a nice touch. Since we were cycling around the wineries every day, they ensured there were extra bottles of water in our room fridge for our rides, which was exceptionally considerate. They also gave us several maps and told us that if we were lost at any point we could call them and they'd come and find us! We truly felt taken care of by the wonderful hosts, Lynn and Ken and we'd recommend this BnB to anyone going to Niagara-on-the-Lake, especially those who are unfamiliar with the area (or the country for that matter!)!

Room Tip: Book 2-3 weeks in advance

Located in beautiful fields a few minutes outside of Niagara-on-the-Lake and immediately off the famous Wine Route, Carbonnel was the perfect place to stay during my wife's and my recent trip to the region. We stayed in the lovely (spacious) Alexandra room, and not only enjoyed the facilities but also the genuine warmth and hospitality of the hosts Lynne and Ken, who were as handy in conversation as they were in the kitchen; a kitchen that churned out wonderful coffee and tea, juice, fresh regional fruit and fantastic breakfast mains. If you're in the area, and especially if you'd like an idyllic space amidst the vineyards, do yourself a favour and book a stay at Carbonnel.

Room Tip: Try the Alexandra room.
