Description: At Ravine we are blessed with a culinary program that has a lot more to offer then just talented cooks in the kitchen. We are among the few self standing restaurants that bake our own bread, raise our own pigs, grow our own certified organic vegetables while pairing our meals with the guidance and discriminating palate of a wine maker and in house sommelier. We are extremely proud of our service team and confident in the level of hospitality that will be shown to your table whenever you choose to dine with us at Ravine.

We often hear from eating establishment owners that they source locally. It is a sign of the time and appeals to our senses. At Ravine, it is taken to an entirely different level. They raise their own pigs and produce their own Charcuterie (Cold Cuts) and sausages. They grow their own organic vegetables, bake their own bread, make their own preserves and truly apply the much touted Farm to Table concept. The menu will reflect that seasonally and sometime weekly depending on freshness and availability.
The restaurant overlooks a large part of the vineyard. It is of a rustic design nicely fitting in the surroundings and certainly complementing the tasting building which is a historical structure. In its basement the meats are cured in a temperature controlled room near the cellar area. Think of it as the blending of the old and the new (in fact truly high tech).
They do recommend reserving your table and I concur, walk-ins are not easily accommodated as this place is in high demand. When you get there try their wines in the tasting room. The product is of excellent quality, my favorites are the Cabernet Franc and the Meritage. The Riesling and Chardonney are offered at 2 levels.
The tasting room is very cosy and the point of sale is at the end of it . A short corridor leads to the small retail store.
The menu, is very rustic and simple in its design. The charcuterie board will change with the availability of the cold meats. There is usually a salami, german and /or Spanish style sausage may be cured bacon and other traditional offerings.
The cheese board will also feature the available cheeses for the day. The presentation for both is elegant and peppered with preserves and country mustard all made in the restaurant’s kitchen.
For lunch they do have house made burgers with fries and mussels and fries both excellent. The soup of the day when we visited was a cream befitting the season
On our table we had the Meritage as it was deemed a “lighter” wine for the fare we ordered versus the Cabernet Franc.
This is a place where food and wine are equally taken very seriously making a destination. It is worth noting that it was listed as one of the world’s best 20 restaurants in the world in 2011. But then again behind this daily quality production there is a leadership that trained and worked with the very best chefs of our time.
Make a point of visiting and spend time tasting the excellent wines and food available at Ravine Vineyard in St David.

Great view, great food but the service was below par. Our server was pleasant but messed up our order three times. Has a longer than normal wait and unfortunately there was a business meeting beside us which hogged space. I would go back for the food. Wine was ok but not great. There are better in the area.

This restaurant was my favorite dining experience of our entire trip. First of all Ravine is placed on a vineyard which makes for a beautiful backdrop. The food was the best of all the eateries we dined at throughout our weekend, and the service was excellent.

We are staying in St Davids and had a wonderful evening at Ravine. We started by doing a tasting and purchasing some fun specialty sauces on their grocery side. The staff are extremely friendly and out going! Great to chat with! After our tasting we walked over for our reservation at the restaurant! We started with the white fish cakes; one of us paired it with a glass of their Sauvignon Blanc and the other ordered a glass of the Chardonnay. We both ordered the beef tenderloin with roasted potatoes and vegetables as the side - and we ordered a bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon with our meals. We were too full for dessert but the menu looked delicious! Had a great time and spent about two hours chatting and enjoying our wine. Beautiful scenery, the restaurant has a side wall of glass and you could admire the vines before it was dark! Restaurant was intimate but a little loud when there were larger parties dinning. Overall a great evening and we can't wait to come back!

We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. Try the hamburger. It was very tasty and came with caramel onions. For desert, the lemon meringue pie was very good.

The service was slow and we had to wait a very long time to get the check. But that was a function of the particular waiter. We would certainly go back there if we are in the region.
