Mye has been in Oakville for over 30 years. The service is outstanding and the food taste and quality is even better. We have been dining at Mye for over 15 years and we have never had a meal that wasn't great. The Owner, Mo Aoki is a real gentleman and can usually be found working in the kitchen or behind the sushi counter. As busy as he is, he always has time to greet is many devoted clients. The sushi is simply the best we have ever had and has been consistently great for all the years that we have been dining there. Our favourite appetizer is the Deep Fried Squid, and it is always cooked to perfection. The sushi is always freshly made and delicious too. Mye 2 is located in north Oakville and it is equally fantastic. Mo Aoki and Mye are also great corporate citizens and have been actively promoting and support worthy community causes since they opened. Simply the best Japanese (or any other food type) restaurant that we have ever experienced! Take out is available and highly recommended as well.

Mye has been part of Oakville restaurant scene for nearly 30 years I believe. It certainly serves the best Japanese food in Oakville, perhaps one of the best in the GTA. Food is always fresh and tastes are unique. You will never be disappointed food-wise. But, service and facilities are not to same standards. Ownership did no renovation and upgrading over the years, so the restaurant itself doesn't do justice to the food served. Service has always been on the slow side as well. With a bit of investment on the facilities and a better organization to speed up the service, it has the potential to be a top 10 restaurant in the GTA.

Dont set high expectations - service is pretty bad - food is average, prices are high and you will wait forever for a waitress. IF she came by quickly - order everything at once because its a while before u see her return to your table again.

We have had the joy of trying foods and Sushi around the world. Without a doubt Mye restaurant in Oakville Ontario tops our list. Executive Chef Mortoaki Aoki (best known as "Moe" ) makes every dinner so special. The Key: Freshness! So critical in Sushi......
Moist and delicious A variety of seafood each with a unique flavour and beautiful in
their presentation. You will not be disappointed..

Mye has a reputation of one of the best Japanese restaurants in this area.I first ate there 20 years ago.

We anticipated a delicious evening.
Sadly it did not deliver.

It was a busy Saturday evening and we had reservations.

On entering we all noted the smell of fried food.....lots of tempora !!!!
We were first seated in a back room with an unavoidably noisy large group of 10 people.

We were moved to the next door room where there were 2 free table options for the 4 of us.

We ordered our food and then started a 1and a quarter hour wait.

We asked for wine to ease our pain and were told that they'd run out of wine glasses so couldn't accommodate us.
10 minutes later following further prompting small glasses were found!!

Our server was obviously flustered and in general things were poorly organised.

Our food finally arrived .2 Sukiyaki ....beef and veg which you cook yourself at the table.Looked great but left little space on our table for 2 big bento boxes of Shokido dinner.....a selection of beef, chicken sushi and tempora.....ordered by the other 2.

The food was ok but nothing we'd rush back for especially when there are so many other great Japanese dining experiences around.

This restaurant is 30 years old.It is resting on its reputation won when there really were no other Japanese restaurants.

The decor was tired and very slightly scruffy .

There was a pervasive smell of fried food.
Probably not helped by the rooms which are small with lowish ceilings.

Service ,whilst friendly and willing was unforgivably slow.

Food was really not great and we were for over 250 bucks expecting much much better.

Doubt there's a reason to give it a second chance.
