Really nice staff

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights on a business trip. Pretty standard Marriott as you would expect, however the staff are exceptionally nice, attentive and happy. Lots of construction going on around outside of the hotel. Short walls to restaurants etc . Very quiet at night

Location, location, location

This Marriott is located on Sparks ST, a pedestrian mall with many restaurants snd shops. It is a 5 minute walk to Parliament,and 15 minutes to Byward Market area.

Rooms are comfortable with everything you would expect, including a refrigerator.

Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant looked nice but we did not try it, there are so my within a 10 minute walk.

Second only to the Fairmont for location. Nice Property.

Room tip: Any direction but north will work.

Great Location

We parked the car and walked all weekend. It is close to everything and well worth the room rates. We were able to get a AAA rate one night and military another, the front desk was very nice to offer the lower rates without me asking. The room was spacious and had a great view of Parliament Hill. We had another reservation elsewhere further out and are so glad we changed and moved closer downtown.

Ottawa wedding

The Marriott was very conveniently located a 5 minute walk from parliament. We parked our car (a little Expensive) and ubered to where we needed to be for the wedding and related events. The room was small but very clean. Free wifi is always nice. Lots of construction in the general area. I would probably stay at the courtyard Marriott next time just for its proximity to the byward market. More stuff to do near there.

Convenient location

THis lack luster hotel is located in an ideal location close to Parliament Hill, restaurants and delis/bars on Sparks Street and other cool and fun places within a decent walking radius. 15 minute walk to the downtown, Byward Market, a few more minutes to the National gallery, the Canadian Mint, embassy offices, the Shaw Convention Centre. Location is, for me, the only redeeming factor about this hotel. The lobby is small and unwelcoming. I found the rooms to be very small with double beds. While very clean, it lacks the pazzazz I am used to in a hotel, especially for a Marriott. The pool is so-so and in need of an upgrade. The restaurant does not have a very extensive menu and is not a comfortable and inviting place to spend relaxing time. The prices are average, but again I mention the location as its redeeming quality.
