After a week at Les Suites in Downtown Ottawa, my date (who flew in) and I checked in at Brookstreet to attend a friend's wedding on June 4 weekend. The rooms were nicely appointed (love the modern/masculine colour scheme), quite high tech in fact (well suited for the tech crowd visiting Nortel, Alcatel etc. out in Kanata). The restaurant downstairs looked amazing and the bar was hopping every evening. Perhaps there was a convention/corporate retreat going on that weekend. However, breakfast was rather pricey, so my date and I drove out to the nearby Coras for sumptuous breakfasts on both days.
The only annoying thing was how you need to use your security card all the time to access the guest floors. I got locked out once!
Hotel location is relative here - Brookstreet is really far from Downtown Ottawa, but it was right beside my friend's wedding at the Marshes Golf Course. The hotel even had a van to shuttle us wedding guests to/from Marshes. Good service.
