“Very awesome site”

Confederation Square
Reviewed 19 July 2017

Every hour there is a changing of the two guards, complete with inspection and bagpipes. The somber mood giving honor to the Canadian soldiers who died in each of the wars as well as the Unknown Soldiers was inspiring. Unfortunately there were a couple of disrespectul tourists doing selfies and acrobatics in front of the tomb. They definitely were out of place.

With everything to see and do in Ottawa, this is a super spot to sit on one of the many benches and catch one's breath. And, various statues with story lines will augment your knowledge of Canadian history. For the more adventurous, this is a great starting point for walking the Rideau Canal.

- The Confederation Park is the place where they have the Ice Sculpture Festival.
- Weekends are good to visit with family, but there is a lot of people visiting.
- Some long lines, but well organized and doesn't take a long time to see the sculptures.

It is a small Square at the end of Elgin St. It is the second most important ceremonial centre in Ottawa. It is the place where you can see the guard changing and some importatn dignitaries when visiting Ottawa
