Deacon Brodies serves typical pub food along with some traditional Scottish dishes such as haggis. Also offer a selection of Scottish beer and a large sortiment of whiskey. Staff is friendly and kilt-clad. Interior looks pretty much as any UK-style pub. Well worth a visit.

This is a good pub that is definite an option for stopping for a beer or more so a scotch of one finds themselves along Elgin street. The food is good and they have some more traditional Scottish pub options. There are tables to sit at and Also a bar to hang at for those who maybe out solo for the evening.

They had some good food and drinks specials each night of the week with a good scotch menu. They also host a scotch tasting one Sunday a month for those who like to get out and sample the various activities that Ottawa has to offer.

Several nights of the week there is live entertainment and there is a huge tv screen that is great for key sports events or games that are on.

The staff are friendly and professional.

Place is clean.

Overall, recommended and I will go back.

We decided to visit this pub because it was next to our hotel and we had four hungry children with us ranging in age from 10 to 13. I cannot comment on the beverages offered as this was not what we came for. It was fairly quiet for a pub which made our family outing more enjoyable. I gladly recommend their shepherd’s pie made with ground lamb and a good layer of vegetables. Everyone else was pleased with their meals. Service was good and with all staff eager to accommodate.

In town for work, and staying at the Cartier next door. Thought I'd swing by for the Monday special (Burger and a pint for $12). The beer was good, the burger so-so. Don't know if partly charred is the custom around here, but the meat was a little scorched. The fries were good pub fair and the homemade mushroom soup was quite tasty. The atmosphere leaves no doubt that this is pub, but worth a visit for that alone.

Save your money and go to McDonalds!
Good choice for beers and whiskeys, although our bartender was awful. He didn't know the menu and couldn't make up for it with wit or charm. He ignored us most of the time making no conversation and paying more attention to his phone than his customers. The food was AWFUL. The burger was two very flat beef patties McDonald style patties! No flavour, dry and disappointing. The fish main you could have bought in a box in the frozen aisle of Sobey's for a quarter of the price.
Our waiter saw that we were slightly confused by the burger and so avoided all eye contact with us until we left and made sure not to ask how our meal was. Over all a terrible experience. We had planned to have a few drinks there but One was enough so we moved on once our food was finished.
Will not be returning.
