This restaurant is a fantastic find! The food was fresh, delicious, with so many complex flavours. For appetizers, we shared aloo tikki, vada, onion fritters and vegetable samosas. All were delicious. For the mains, our party of 6 shared the king fish, 2 lamb dishes, the duck and nigiri chicken. All fantastic. When each member of the party says they'll be back, you know you've hit culinary gold!

My wife and I discovered the Coconut Lagoon while searching for a restaurant we had not visited in Ottawa. The reviews were over the top so we visited the restaurant last night around 5:15. We were very surprised at how busy it became soon after arriving - completely full and second sittings while we were there. The serving staff was over-the-top helpful and attentive and offered great suggestions. The ginger soya scallop appetizer was very good as were the lentil doughnuts. I had the goan spicy chicken and it was exceptional - nice and spicy - I needed the mango lassi to cool down. My wife3 had the malabar shrimp and it too was very nice.

This restaurant is one of Ottawa's treasures. It serves imaginatively prepared South Indian dishes. The head waiter offers excellent suggestions for pairing foods so you get a variety of flavours and sauces. The ginger scallop appetizer dish is superb. This place tends to be busy always so make a reservation.

You know you're in for a treat when the chef of this restaurant is a Gold Medal Plates winner. Food is excellent, spicy, and aromatic. The service well informed and the chef quickly accommodated the vegan in our group. The surroundings are intimate and comfortable. We just walked in on a Sunday night for dinner and we were seated in about a minute as a table was set. If you are in the east end, this should be a go-to place.

This is a quaint little restaurant that probably would be overlooked if one wouldn't read the reviews. The food was fresh and the wait was short. The butter chicken was really good and the Lamb Malabar Style Biryani just made one want more. This is definitely a place someone will want to go back more than once.
