Lunch after Church on Sunday is always a treat. My sister wanted Pho and fortunately I remembered that a "new" Hot Pot place had opened in St. Catharines. So we went to Lang's, which as it it turns out, is owned by the same people who own the Pho restaurant on Geneva St. Hot pot management was a completely new experience for us! (One has to choose hot pot or BBQ - you cannot have both because each requires different equipment which is built into the table.) The staff very patiently explained the "all you can eat" concept, the contents of the refrigerated shelves and counters, etc. and how to order the variety of food to put into the hotpot. Seafood was abundant and fresh, meat well seasoned and the enoki mushrooms SHOULD be your "noodles." I repeat. Do not fill up on noodles. We ate like there was no tomorrow and still had room for green tea, mango and red bean ice cream. We're definitely going back to try the barbecue side.

Lots of vegetarian options, the produce was fresh and broth was delicious. The service was wonderful, friendly and explained the process to us as we were newbies to hot pot. We will definitely be going back.

Lang is perfect for a date night, a party, or a dinner with friends. Count on taking your time, because this is a leisurely, social experience. The meal is an excuse for socializing.
And the meal itself is fun and delicious, too. So much variety and the vegetables are crisp and colourful. The staff was attentive and helped us navigate our first experience with "hot pot". Loved it!

Four of us went for HotPot one Friday evening. We all love Pho so thought this would be a different and fun evening and we weren't disappointed. We ordered our wine first and then browsed around to get a feel for what we were to do....and yes, all is explained by our excellent waitress. Our table for 4 had two conduction heaters at the table. So my husband and I ordered the Sweet & Sour Broth and a Vegetable Broth....both were excellent...but we ended up mixing the two up a bit. The S&S was our favourite. There were appetizers and we did have spring rolls and a couple other options (sorry, I forget what) but all was very good. After our appetizers we went up to the cooler area and picked up our noodles (many to choose from) and our veggies (also plenty to choose from).....be sure to try the enoki mushrooms, they were excellent in the broth....kinda like more noodles! We love greens and we kept adding more greens and more noodles and enoki to our broth. I watched others come in and noticed that they (probably more experienced than us) filled one plate with greens and veggies and a separate plate for noodles (smart idea)...do not add all of your ingredients at the same time...and remember, some delicate veggies cook quicker than others so add in proper order to your broth. You can adjust the temperature of your broth but another word of advice....once your soup is ready to eat....ladle it into your bowl and let it sit for many minutes to cool a bit (this is when you sip your wine!). We will definitely do again. You can fill your pot of broth as much as you like; however, the one fill was enough for the two of us. The restaurant was not overly crowded this particular VERY HOT EVENING....(soup on a hot evening...nuts) but we still all enjoyed ourselves. They do have senior pricing and our bill came to $93 for the two meals and a bottle of wine....I think that was with tip????

We went for the BBQ and totally enjoyed the entire experience. The restaurant was lovely and spotlessly clean. Service was great they explained how everything worked and made some great suggestions. The quality of the meat and seafood was very good and when combined with the grilled vegetables and delicious sauces it made for a wonderful meal. Can't wait to go back with friends and share this unique dining experience.
