Location was good - right on the waterfront, but the area seems a bit sketchy at first sight, so I wouldn't recommend walking around too much late a night. That said, we walked to a restaurant close by for dinner and did not encounter any problems. The rooms are enormous, but lacking in sufficient lighting (our room had only two lamps, so it was a bit dark at night), and clean. The hotel is pet friendly - even for large breeds - and its location right on the water allows easy access to the waterfront park to walk your dog. There are non-fast food chain restaurants nearby if you're looking for something better for dinner. Breakfast was included and consisted of a buffet, which was good. Being an old building with only one, old (small) elevator, we opted to take the stairs over waiting for it. When it's busy, the wait for the elevator can take quite a while and it doesn't fit much.

We stayed here for one evening rather than cabbing home after an evening out. The price was very reasonable. In fact, probably lower than it should be. There has been some good renovations done to this hotel, but there's still room for improvement. The hotel and room was clean. Need better air conditioning units though.

This place has some great potential. The lakeside rooms are breathtaking in the morning when you see the sun rise over the sleeping giant. Will stay here again.

This is wonderful old hotel built in 1911. Not the most luxurious like a new chain hotel but has the charm of a long passed era. It's not difficult to imagine it in it's hay-day. Check out the painted ceiling above the entrance lobby and the mechanical floor numbers on the lift. Excellent value including a hot buffet breakfast cooked in a kitchen not out of a packet. Not much sound proofing so can be a bit noisy.
Lots of really good restaurants, coffee shops and bars with in a few minutes walk. Great friendly staff.

The Prince Arthur met my expectations for an old charming Hotel that would be clean and have a Pleasant staff, but not be up to modern par!
The beds are small and bring your own pillow. The window A.C. Is a very modern touch in 1955 and met my expectations for a classic! It would be nice if they repaired the screens on the small bathroom windows! Skip the bar, as the drinks pours were short but the staff was consistently pleasant. Did not try the dinning as we walked across to the harbour and enjoyed an excellent meal at Bight on the outside dinning area!
If you must eat breakfast have a muffin and fruit and go somewhere else to fill up more!
The powdered eggs suck (sorry) and I have no idea why the breakfast sausage is titled as such. Cardboard could describe it best!
All said I will stay again, as the location, cleanliness, price, expectation management and view can make 1 night worthwhile.

Room Tip: Lake side view.
