Owner description: Located within walking distance of the CN Tower and Rogers Center, Steam Whistle Brewing occupies Bays 1-14 within the old John Street Roundhouse building, a designated National Historic Site that was previously home to the Canadian Pacific Railway steam locomotive repair facility. Thousands of visitors visit this brewery every year to attend one of the on-site events or take a tour of how the company brews its own Pilsner.

Steam Whislte is all hype and no substance. There are much better micro brewries in Ontario including Mill St Brewery and Amsterdam. Steam Whislte seems to go skunky very quickly and certainly an acquired taste. Quality is very inconsistent.

Another must visit when in Toronto. Great atmosphere, great staff. Excellent selection of crafted beers. Had a great dinner [excellent house salad, appetizer, and entree.

I spent the evening at Steam Whistle for a Track-3 fundraiser...and it was a magnificent facility! The staff even offered us free tours of the brewery. What an interesting history...and great beer!
