Owner description: The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is among the world’s leading museums of natural history and world cultures. In combining a universal museum of cultures with that of natural history, the ROM offers an unusual breadth of experience to our audiences from around the world. We realize more acutely now that nature and humanity are intertwined, and the ROM offers many examples in its collections and programs of these fundamental relationships.

“Amazing Day at the ROM”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

We were more than pleasantly surprised when walking into the doors of the ROM. Definitely one of Toronto's greatest attractions. The building is a gem in itself.

Photographers... take your camera's! What an amazing opportunity to test your skills with lighting and angles.

Tips for the day...
1. Be prepared to check your backpacks. You're allowed only very small bags in the museum.
2. Allow plenty of time to go through the museum. You're not going to want to be rushed.
3. Don't be shy about visiting the lunch facilities... the cafeteria style food is very reasonably priced, and very, very good.
4. Wear comfortable (quiet) shoes. It can be a bit embarrassing to be clunking around in some of the exhibits.
5. Don't be shy about the entering the gift shop. They have daily specials that are a real find. Many of their gifts are worth looking at twice.

“Maya's exhibit only”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

Really interesting to see the objects and to read the information provided. Even if you know some history, and have been to Mexico, visit the pyramids, there is always something new to be learned. How were they able to put all those pyramids together and all the knowledge that they had, probably more advanced that the Spaniards that came to “discover” the new world that was already peopled.

“Great Museum! Dinosaurs were splendid”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

I really enjoyed their organized exhibits on ancient Egyptian and Greek history. The dinosaurs were fantastic! My only complaint is that the bat cave was. . . a complete letdown. Don't waste your precious time visiting the bat cave. But definitely go to the museum and see the dinosaurs!
