“Easy Walking”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

High Park is a great place to visit on the Sunday for a short urban hike or stroll down to the waterfront. I've always felt very calm in the park, it has a very mellow feel for a large wooded area near Toronto. It has some nice segues down to a duck pond and down along an embankment. If you are looking for a place for a chat and stroll with a friend, I would highly recommend it - seems quite peaceful there.

“Off-Leash Dog Area is 2nd to None”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

Just came back from a long walk in the off-leash dog park area of high park. Was a GREAT day! They have upgraded the fences so it's harder for the dogs to get lost or hurt. There are fenced trails through the forest, a paved fenced road (no cars) and a main meeting area (I call it dog hill) which in the summer has a spout and bowls for dogs to get a drink. If you go in the spring just be prepared because it is VERY muddy. Bring a mat to sit on and wash cloths before your dog gets back in the car. Also note: it gets very busy on the weekend and there are LOTS of dogs so if your dog does not stay close, might be a good idea to keep them on-leash. Even my little guy who is used to off-leash parks got carried away with a pack of other dogs and wandered off with them (he came back). The trails make it harder to find a lost dog, so if your dog is new at this, maybe try dog hill first - it's just one big area so fewer places to wander off.

“Great cheap or free day out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

This is a beautiful park with a small zoo, several playgrounds, snack bars, pools and a leash free dog park. If you want a great free day out, pack a picnic and away you go. The pools are free and the snack bars are reasonable. Bring a bag of peanuts and you can feed the squirrels, chipmunks and birds right out of your hand. It's a piece of nature in the middle of the city.

“Relaxing and Peaceful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

Have been going here for 7 years now. Husband jogs every morning. The pond is so relaxing.

Lots of new mothers with their new borns too.
The cafe has good, but not great, food to snack on.

Great place to exercise in. There's also a park inside :)

For sure something to show kids.

you can go there to rest, walk with your dog, play tennis, visit in the zoo, so on. Its a huge park and you can do many things there. If you love dogs, there is a particupar place there where the dogs can play with a other.
