After hearing so much about this place, we tried on a Thursday evening early around 7pm and waited for about 30 minutes. There was an enclosed area to wait in the cold weather. Inside, the atmosphere was warm and rowdy. Great place to get drunk (the purpose of izakaya) and have fun but not on a date or having good conversation. Typical of Asian style eating, food was meant to be shared tapas style and the variety was good here. We tried fried brie (delicious fried fat!!), fried octopus ball (expecting a little more to it), grilled pork loin (nothing outstanding but had good sauce), yaki udon(good flavour with beef and mushroom), bibimbab (had same flavour as friend udon , thus prefer Korean style better), seaweed salad (too little seaweed), and fried chicken (beyond KFC!!). Maybe if we consumed saki or Japanese beer, the flavour of the food would be enhanced. The portions were small and thus not great value (around $30 with no alcohol or drinks). Great place to socialize but overall a little overrated.
