“Comfortable business stay at Novotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2012

The hotel itself is quite modern and has all the updates you would expect. The location is great (a short walk from Union Station) and the rooms were clean and spacious. The service quality was the main downside. I waited in line for a while to check in and check out and no one was overly friendly. Overall, a decent, clean place to stay for a few days. Nothing atrocious, nothing spectacular.

We stayed at this hotel one night too many! We booked this hotel through Hotwire only to find out that they treat you like a second class citizen. Nobody was helpful and the walls are thin alnong with a lot of street noise. They must pay people to write positive reviews about this place because believe me it is not worth the money. Our room wasn't even ready until 1600 hrs, 1 hour we got there. The front desk person spoke hardly any english and was very defensive when asked questions. Our stay really sucked,,,stay any where but here!

Room Tip: Stay anywhere but here,,,not worth all the money.

My husband, daughter and I stayed one night March14. I booked on Hotwire and got the room for $85. We have no complaints except that our air/heat system wasn't cooling very well...the temperature in Toronto was 22 degrees that day!! The room temp was comfortable none the less. My daughter and I arrived at 1:00 and were able to check in at that time. The gentleman who checked us in was polite and friendly, and gave my daugter a little welcome gift.
We used the pool and hot tub in the afternoon and again later in the evening after my arrived. It was not a large pool, but bright and clean. The hot tub was nice and warm with strong jets. I thought it would be busier since it was march break, but there was never more than 3 or 4 other bathers when we were there.
The beds were super comfy, we all had a great nights sleep. My husband did hear some street noise but it didn't keep us awake. We did call housekeeping for extra pillows, and also top sheets for the bed. There is a comfy duvet, but no top sheets...apparantly a "European" custom.
the bathroom was clean and bright, and the shower had good pressure
We did not eat at the hotel...had dinner across the street at the old spaghetti factory...cool decor, pleasant wait staff...the food was ok, reasonably priced.
There is a little convenience store beside the hotel that sells basics and also has a counter where you can get sandwiches, and breakfast items. We bought BLT's , muffins , toast and tea etc for less than $20 in the morining.
I would stay here again, it is a convenient location ( 10 min walk to Eaton Centre, 10-15 to Rogers Centre)
The parking was $23 but we were able to stay parked untill midnight of checkout date at no extra charge.
Any staff we encountered were all pleasant.

The walls are thin! you can hear the next room! the rooms are small and the service was horrible. They never services our room after we had called them repeatedly to service it. The front desk concierge gave us attitude about it and couldn't offer anything to compensate for their poor service. They actually came into the room because they cleaned our garbage out and took note that we had opened a bottled water but they never took our dirty towels, they didn't make the bed, and they didn't give us new towels!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I have been to 3.5 star hotels and the hotel was not even close to being this bad. The air is really dry as well and the vending machines don't sell water. I thought this hotel was so nice until I got into the room and realized it was old and needed updates. You would be disappointed!

We stayed there only for a night.

It was very pleasant, the rooms spacious and clean. There was free wifi, the parking right below was 17 something dollars and the location was great. Three minute walk to Air Canada Center. The price was also very reasonable. I actually have nothing to complaint about.

I would stay there again, i would recommend it.

Absolutely Repulsive service. Got severe food poisoning from the buffet, and they tried to charge US an additional hundred dollars for the doctor. Rooms are tiny and uncomfortable. Not worth your money at all.
