“Walking Distance to Everything”

This is our second time at this location and its great. We like to walk outdoors and its pretty close to all of Toronto's major attractions. Last year we walked the PATH to the Rogers Centre and its a great way to stay out of the cold, and its pretty easy to follow. We usually are in Toronto for one reason or another so don't spend a lot of time at the hotel or in the room. Both times we had a 2 double room and its clean and comfy, has a nice bathroom and a coffee maker, last year I had requested a small fridge and they game me one. The pool is half in and half outdoor, I haven't been in it but the kids loved it. Note the parking on their website its a weekday rate and its cheaper on the weekends and its right at the hotel underground. We did order a roomservice pizza and it was good but expensive....I guess thats to be expected.

This essentially business hotel (one block from City Hall and the Law Society) is also great for travelers (three blocks from the Eaton Centre, a 10 minute walk to the Royal York and airport shuttle buses, and the Four Seasons performing arts centre is right across the street). The hotel is handy to the PATH so getting around downtown TO in the winter is no problem. The rooms are very smart. The beds and bedding incredibly comfortable. (We had a room high up and slept very well.) The lobby is very attractive, with good use of light and sound. A fitness centre is available, and the pool is such a treat: it is heated and extends outdoors. (What a great delight to float on one's back in the warm waters and catch snowflakes! The people passing by in parkas just stopped and stared.) The Tundra Restaurant serves excellent meals, including a very nice breakfast buffet. Cleaning staff were efficient, quiet, and very pleasant. Front desk staff were thorough and efficient. (On a previous stay, they were not, so something has changed for the better.) The only thing to note is that the bathroom in our suite was showing definite signs of age and will very soon be in need of a complete overhaul and upgrade. It was definitely not up to Hilton standards. Will definitely stay again!

Room Tip: Ask about upgrades. Consider a room higher up.

Dear Trip Advisor Member...

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us! I was very happy to learn that your expectations were met and that you enjoyed your visit! We apprecaite your comments regarding bathroom upgrades which are currenly in the design phase for the Junior Suites throughout the hotel.

We do hope that should your travel plans include Toronto in the future that you will once again make the Hilton Toronto your "home away from home"!

Overall probably one of the best in the Hilton chain that we have stayed in. Very nice lobby (not that that ever matters. Why do hotels pour so much money into their lobbies instead of the rooms !? anyway..) Great room, 17th floor. Awesome view up University Ave. towards Queens Park. Very quiet, given the location. Fit and finish in the room was good and cleanliness was about a 9 out of 10. Given Toronto room rates in general, also priced well for what you received. The parking is extra and you enter it down a ramp from the small entry circle by the taxis. Easy to get into/out of and included in/out privileges (I believe).

Room Tip: Get a higher floor to avoid street noise. Preferably high enough and north facing for a city view.

Dear Trip Advisor Member...

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us! We are pleased to know that you enjoyed your time with us and felt our property was a great example of the Hilton family brand! Our lobby area truly is the "heart" of the hotel and our team works very hard to ensure this space is welcoming and inviting for the myriad of activities that take place within it! You might be surprised to learn that this space won many Canadian Design awards when it was last refrubished in 1999! Keep you eyes open over the next few months as we continue to enhance this area and bring even more guest experiences to light in this wonderful space! That said, we are very pleased to have completed Guest Room renovations over the past 3 years and look forward to completing our final few floors in 2012! We recognize that keeping our product fresh and modern is a key feature that our most loyal customers expect!

As a traveller FYI, self-parking does not allow in/out privileges. Automated tickets must be obtained and paid upon each arrival and departure. Valet Parking is available 24 hours and is a great idea if you are taking your car in and out frequently during your stay.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we hope that you will visit us again soon!

Warm wishes,

Edwin Frizzell

REASON FOR MY STAY: Romantic Getaway / Friends weekend in the city
CHECK IN: although check in is 3, and we showed up at 3 something our rooms were not ready. However front desk offered us complementary drinks at their bar as we waited. We did not wait too long for our rooms.
ROOM: was huge and the bed was very comfortable. Both the sheet and towels were clean. The only complaint was the very tiny bathroom.
CHECKOUT: we just dropped off our key and went. No problems.
Other Comments: the location of the hotel in the downtown core is wonderful.

Stayed for 2 nights. Scenic elevator is fun and the location is convenient for center city sights.
Negatives: Housekeeping on our floor was not very good. Dust all over the tv and dresser. They were not around in the morning and then vacuuming at 9 PM. Our room was not tidied or cleaned very thoroughly on day 2.
Room temperature was uncomfortable. The thermostat would not go lower than 60 and we were boiling. Front light was flickering and buzzing too.
Steer clear of the bar - it's $10 for a glass of domestic beer.
To the hotel's credit, the manager did acknowledge our dissatisfaction and his attitude and willingness to work on a solution was appreciated.
So definitely speak up to the manager if you are unhappy. Don't both with the regular staff - they are not truthful.

I stayed here for my birthday in oct boyfriend thought it would be a nice idea to go all out room was quite pricey and don't get me wrong very beautiful however there were just a few things that kinda grinded my gears, first we has a room with a jacuzzi in it very romantic? Think again the jacuzzi started making a weird sound as soon as we turned it on, so we called front desk in about an hour they sent maintenance up if you don't think very weird sound coming from the jacuzzi puts a damper on things the maitenance man in our room for almost an hour did but whatever didnt want to let that ruin our night because we were paying out the but for the beautiful room. So we ordered room service, quite pricey but very worth it food was absolutely delish!!!!! The problem with the room service we were told to put our tray outside of the door and it would be picked up some time before 11, no such luck we placed our tray outside our door at 9 20 I believe and when we checked out the next day our tray was STILL there looked and smelt quite gross. However the room was beautiful and the beds were amazingly comfortable best sleep I ever got.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and choosing to celebrate your special occasion at the Hilton! We will certainly share your comments with our Engineering and In-Room Dining team as both of these items did not meet the standards of service for the hotel. Please do accept our apologies for these oversights and rest assured that your feedback will be used as part of our team's on-going training.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the very near future!

...And, if you are in the right room, a great view of the CN Tower. I have made a Black and White to put in my foyer of the skyline, including the CN Tower, that I took from my room window.

Let me not forget the wonderful staff, cleanliness, and helpful concierge. Nice little bar downstairs. Easy walk to many interesting sites, and convenient transportation to others. All in all, a wonderful hotel and a memorable stay.
