You need to take ferry to Central island. The island has some booths for kids to play and have the cable car too. There also has a big field for picnic. I think most of the kids will like Central island in Toronto.

A fun ferry ride from the mainland in down town Toronto takes you to this immaculately maintained island in about 10 min. There you will find bike trails (bikes avail for rent on the island if you dont want to bring yours on the ferry, fyi) an amusement park, petting zoo, multiple beaches (including a nude beach 'Hanlans Point') plus stunning gardens and fountains. This is a great spot to spend an afternoon tanning, swimming, walking/biking the trails or having a picnic. There are several charcoal bbq's avail to the public at no cost if you want to grill something for your meal as well. This island feels almost cottage like, and I always forget im even in a city when there. Very peaceful. Perfect for family outings.

The Islands are not just a summer attraction, you can visit all year round as the views are amazing and the Island has some lovely walks! Try to stay a little later so you can see the lights of Toronto at night

A magical, place to go at any time of the year. Enjoy the ferry ride over and see the view of the Toronto skyline. Mew love renting bikes and seeing all the islands this way. Great for a picnic too.
