“I keep going back over and over (and over... and over...)”
Reviewed 20 February 2012

Although the Christmas by Lamplight event (weekend evenings in December) is my favourite event of the year (honestly... it's the highlight of the Christmas season for me), I recommend it for anyone visiting at ANY time of year.
It's great to enjoy on your own (I usually bring a book and sit outside), with friends (Brews Fest is the best - though they haven't held this event in a few years) or with a partner (I used to use it as my "dating" filter - if a potential boyfriend liked it there, I knew he was a "good" guy). I can't wait until I have kids and can bring THEM!
The staff are knowledgeable (I learn something new each time I go) and it really does feel like you're stepping back in time.
Hint: Try to arrive on a day that the mill is running (call ahead to find out).

“Fantastic fun for kids”
Reviewed 5 February 2012

Halloween is a great celebration at BCPV! Lots of fun activities during October and December, but not so much during the rest of the year. Food is awful and huge line up to eat a less than ok and seriously overpriced hot dog or hamburger ... bring your own food and munchies and have a picnic under a tree.

A period village with all the homes and stores you would have found in pioneer period in Canada.
