Someone suggested this restaurant in a little plaza on Dufferin St., south of Steeles Ave., W. So we decided to try it out. Simple decor, your placemat was the menu. Several different soup choices, we tried the borscht and a chicken/rice and spinach soup, both were tasty. Given a basket of sliced white & dark rye bread. We tried the chicken schnitzel which was dipped in egg and fried (not the breaded version which we prefer). We also tried the cabbage rolls (3 rolls with sour cream) but did not come with any side dish. We shared a dessert blintzes , one filled with cottage cheese & one with cherries. However the blintze was fried probably on the grill & seemed to pick up the taste of whatever was last cooked (not a delicate blintze crepe).
But the worst was no refill on the small cup of coffee. Not a normal practice in any restaurant we have dined in.
