Owner description: The Distillery District is an internationally acclaimed village of brick-lined streets and dozens of vibrantly restored Victorian Industrial buildings. It’s one of Ontario’s hottest tourist attractions and home to live theatres, galleries, fashion, design and jewelry boutiques, unique cafes and award-winning restaurants. It’s all completely closed to traffic and just a few minutes walk from downtown Toronto.

This is something any native to Toronto MUST see as well as tourists. The historic district is beautiful and takes one back to the late 19th century and early 20th. You can almost imagine yourself dressed in period costume walking the cobble streets and watching the horse and buggies drive by. There are many tour available for the historic district and for those who wish to eat at Distillery there are many restaurant/pubs with incredible food. Its great for a night out with friends or a tour with family during the day.

Tip: Go at Christmas Time it is absolutely stunning! There is a Christmas Market that lines the cobble streets in wooden huts.

While it might be considered the off season, most places were closed still at noon despite indicating on signage that they were open. Only place that actually was open and good was the Mill St. Brewery

If you have never been to the Distillery Historic District, you owe it to yourself to visit this incredible area in Downtown Toronto. My family and I have attended numerous shows, concerts, fairs and special events here and are never disappointed. There is great food, shops, galleries, entertainment venues for live theater and music and other shows and just a great place to walk for hours. We take every visitor to the Distillery District when they visit Toronto and they are always happy to have seen this wonderful part of Toronto's past and present. Very highly recommended

Some interesting artist studios, a great bakery for lunch and a nice, quiet area to walk around at any time of the year.

Liked the look and feel of exteriors. Consistently bad experience/impression of the bars / restos I've been in. Apparently the proprietors have found an audience of younger people with significantly lower standards and excessive amounts of discretionary income they are willing to invest in the pursuit of ....
