It was a last minute decision to reserve here as we were trying to locate a restaurant close to the Royal Alex. What a find! Although definitely a more expensive place, all the menu items were delicious. We shared fig salad, which was a generous portion for 2, the lamb ribs were juicy and "fall of the bone" tender with a sweet and savoury crust. We also enjoyed the Tah-Dig, Middle eastern Fried Chicken (with tasty pickles), and Thrice cooked Fries. For dessert we had the ice cream stuffed baklava which was a nice mix of flavours and texture of creaminess and crispy pastry. Service was efficient and respectful of our time to get to the theatre on time. I also appreciate that water is supplied without requesting and our water glasses were regularly topped up.
they have a nice selection of wines and interesting mixed drinks. Although not on the menu, there is also a selection of imported and domestic beers.
It is a bit noisy (we were upstairs) and definitely more of a place for groups as opposed to an intimate couples dinner.

Online reservation service said there were no tables available in our time frame but, when I called and explained it was our Daughter’s birthday, they managed to fit us in. When I asked about parking in the area the hostess took our license plate number and directed us to a nearby parking garage where we could park for free. The outside of this historical building is very low key. I walked by it twice. But the inside is very Mediterranean ~ decorated with tile, glass, Mediterranean pottery and unique lighting. The menu is extensive and interesting. There are several ways to order so I would recommend looking the menu up online to familiarize yourself with it. Our server, Joel, was extremely helpful and professional without being intrusive at all. We ordered two starters, a salad, rice, two mains and a side. Everything was amazing. The Sweet Jeweled Rice was so sweet and delicious it could almost be a dessert. The sauce on the Chargrilled Cornish Hen is so good you will want to eat it with a spoon. We made room for dessert ~ barely ~ but it was worth it. My Pavlova was a work of art for the eye and for the tongue. Pricey but worth every penny ~ whoops ~ nickel!

We had originally planned to go somewhere across the street, but couldn’t get a table. Fortunately, they were able to find space for us at Byblos! The atmosphere was exciting, the service was very attentive and informative, and the food was delicious! The beer was perfect temperature, as well!

Ordered and shared multiple plates with my significant other. Lovely melody of flavours and aromas. Eggplant dumplings were soft and delicious. Ask for a table upstairs - The atmosphere was very relaxed and comforting. Great atmosphere for a date or gathering with friends.
Leave room for desserts, but be prepared to share as they are quite filling!
