“Great Hot and sour soup and BBQ Pork”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2013

The hot and sour soup is great. BBQ pork is great in restaurant or to take home. The food is consistently delicious. Check out the fast change table cloths.

“Toronto's Best BBQ Pork!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 December 2012

The restaurant has a takeout counter. We once took a couple of pounds of BBQ pork to a birthday party and dropped it off on the buffet table before parking the car. By the time we got back, the BBQ pork was gone! You can order BBQ as an appetizer or topping on a rice bowl or plate. Add an order to gai lan (Chinese broccoli) with garlic sauce, a soup of some kind (the Hot & Sour soup is great), and you have a filling, tasty and affordable meal. This restaurant is excellent for anything from small family dinners to large get-togethers. There are fixed price menus for dinners for 4, 6, 8 etc. which are reasonably priced considering the quality, variety and quantity of tasty food. The dining room is clean and bright with minimalist decor. It can get quite noisy when it's full. On weekends, the lineups generally begin after 6 pm and continue through prime dinner hours. No lineup if you arrive before 5:30 pm or after 9. The servers are generally fast and efficient and relatively friendly, at least to regular customers. Leave a nice tip for them. They deserve it if they do a good job.

“Great quality Cantonese cuisine”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2012

Regular visitor here, mostly for a late night meal/snack after doing our grocery shopping at FoodyMart next door!
Cantonese cuisine that is easily on par with Hong Kong, great selection on offer and the BBQ meats are cooked very well. Quality has always been very consistent over the years. Prices are reasonable-ish if you order separately, but the best deals are the set menus, especially the ones later on in the evening
As usual do not expect too friendly a service here, but it is better than some places. Comfortable setting, but can get a little busy and crowded so not a place to relax for a quiet meal.

If you want Cantonese cuisine, this will always be a good choice.

“Great Cantonese Food in TO!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2012

It is great, closest thing to a HK style BBQ and noodle house. Great value for money and the BBQ pork is amazing so as the braised sea garoupa tail! Great food, friendly place but no out of the way service!

“Late dinner menu more expensive”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2011

We haven’t gone back to this restaurant for a long time. We are having our dinner late that night and so think of Sam Woo for their late dinner menu. We are a bit earlier and the late dinner menu does not start. But we notice that the late dinner menu used to be below $20 mark now is $25 to $30. With this price range, it is no more economical and you can have it anywhere. We order from the normal dinner menu. They come quick. Quality is average. Service is ok. It used to be better.
