Description: THE ORIGINAL INDIAN STREET FOOD CO. The old Indian Coffee Shops of Delhi and Mumbai have almost disappeared. Their robust flavours used to welcome all: affluent entreprenuers, rickshaw drivers and families. With no air-conditioning, the fans turned viciously. Wicker chairs and bar stools, next to sepia Bollywood portraits. Businessmen coming for breakfast and couples coming for a cup of coffee. Struggling actors and writers dined there. My favourite one, Indian Coffee House, opened in Delhi in 1957, a generation before I was born, and the company was founded in 1936 by Coffee Cess Committee. This was run by a series of worker co-operative societies. Indian Street Food Co is my tribute to such fading restaurants in India, and to the street hawkers who are more innovative then 5 star chefs

My son and I enjoyed our takeout meal thoroughly. I had the eggplant fries as a starter and followed it with the sweet and sour eggplant with basmati rice. Since we had our meal delivered we can't say anything about the restaurant except that the food we had was delicious. As I've said before, 4 1/2 out of 5.

Our go-to Indian food spot in Toronto for +15 years! Amazing food, excellent in-house delivery service, reasonable prices.

PS years ago it was called Amaya Express originally but rebranded about five years ago to Indian Street Food Co. Exactly the same amazing food/recipes.

Indian Street Food is another one of the restaurants in our neighbourhood that is trying to carry on during the current crisis. We had the dinner for four -- three meat and two veg -- with a couple of extra side dishes, and we were very pleased. The quantities are ample and the quality is very good to excellent: 4 1/2 stars. The place deserves your support!

Indian Street Food is one of, if not my favorite Indian food restaurant in Toronto. The atmosphere is great and intimate, the waiters are very attentive and are able to help you navigate the menu based on preferences and dietary restrictions. Their food takes a twist on the classic dishes and mixed in contemporary flares. Really recommend their garlic naan bread - its incredible.
