Unfortunqtely, like many outdoor locations in Canada, winter takes away from the beauty and charm as well as the comfort afforded visitors. Windsor's entire waterfront on the Detroit River and overlooking Bella Isle Mi. as well as Peche Island and downtown Detroit, is exceptional as small cities go because it spans many miles and is a haven for small willife and an exceptional amount of Canada geese and fowl.

there are many places you can picnic - sit and enjoy the sunset, commercial tour boats, ocean freighters and local cruise boats going up and down the Detroit River. My wife and I have walked along the tourist areas where you can enjoy family walks. The fountain and its various programming of lights, etc is very relaxing. Sometimes there are musicians []professionals] who will put on shows. Canada put on a special 360 degree show of all the provinces and provided free coupons to any tourist park in Canada.

We live across the river just outside of Detroit and frequent Windsor. It’s always fun to grab the passport and enter a foreign country after only a 15 minute drive, depending on tunnel traffic. Windsor is a clean and friendly town. The waterfront is beautiful with Park after Park to walk and enjoy the river views.

Great place to go for a walk, run or bike ride there are beautiful sculptures along the path way. You can even have a picnic and watch the boats go by. And there are playgrounds along the path for the children.
