“Incredible view”

Prince Edward Battery
Attraction details

The view out the Charlottetown harbour is second to none from here. the locals use the boardwalk as a daily place to walk, and it is busy year round. I have a soft spot for this spot on the boardwalk, my husband proposed to me here 20 years ago.

we saw this on the double decker hippo bus tour. We would have missed it otherwise. Was very interesting to know that the cannons have never been shot and that PEI was only invaded once and they kidnapped an official and stole a seal which has never been returned. beautiful place for a walk. there is also a playground nearby

If you've seen one old cannon, you've pretty well seen them all, so don't go to Victoria Park just to see the Battery. However, the park offers a very nice view of the city, and lots of parking nearby. It's opposite to the entrance to Charlottetown Harbour and a great place for pictures. And if you're with youngsters, or alone for that matter, there's a good ice-cream stand nearby. A bit far to walk from the cruise terminal unless you're feeling energetic, in which case use the boardwalk which takes you most of the way.

I am lucky enough to live within walking distance, and take it for granted.
Lovely park, great boardwalk, good views, no admission fee, easy to park, what's not to like about it!

This is an awesome place to see where they fought to save PEI from the French and what the cannons were like they used. Where you can take reenactment photos minus the military suits of that era. This can be done along the way on your walk on the boardwalk in Victoria Park.
