Interesting look at where relations with our neighbors to the south used to be, and a good example of 18th and 19th century military works. Wonderful location with a great view of the harbour entrance.

They have done an excellent job in refinishing this site. The cannons are a great representation and there is a lot of information there to learn a little bit about the history of the site. Great little find.

On the spit in front of Government House this makes an interesting stop if you are walking along the waterfront trail. Good info panels explaining the history. Kids can climb on the cannons so they would like playing here.

Great walking trail around Victoria park and in the small forest in the Park. The batterie has a nice view of the harbour and part of Charlottetown.

I love history and when I got to the Battery and saw the cannons, I was surprised by how real they looked. I imagined what it might have been like back then and how far the cannon balls would shoot off shore. How many sunken ships are out there? I asked a couple on lookers but they didn't know. I learned a lot from reading the signs although they didn't mention anything about Samuel Brookes.
