Description: At Barroco you can expect to enjoy inspired French Mediterranean fare in a warm and cozy atmosphere. With its dim lighting, stone walls and inspired decor, we offer fine dining that is chic but certainly not stuffy! Our friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff will do everything to make sure your experience is a memorable and enjoyable one. Reservations are highly recommended as our small 45-seat dining room tends to fill up quickly! We'll be happy to speak to you on the phone or you can head over to Bookenda to book a table. Looking forward to seeing you!

My husband and I spent our 39th anniversary with dinner at this restaurant. It came recommended to us and did not disappoint. We had the ribeye for two which was cooked to perfection. The suggested wine was very good. While the restaurant was busy, we were never hurried to move along and it all made for a memorable evening.

Barroco is a small restaurant in old Montreal, with the tradional stone walls and wood beam ceiling. A very warm and inviting room in the evening, with a busy bar.

My wife and I enjoyed the experience and the meal. I had the lovely spring salad to start and paella as a main - both excellently executed. The paella was packed with seafood and sausage. My wife had oysters with fois gras and they were a "delight". She had the sea bream special for a main and it too was a hit except it was served with cold clams, that were off-putting. The fish was served on a bed of roasted fennel and olive tapenade.

Serve was great - personal and knowledgeable.

We would definitely return.

AN outstanding experience. Great atmosphere; incredibly knowledgeable staff with respect to wine and food. Ordered pasta with Burratta as appetizer to share and was absolutely on point. Mains were the paella and short rib. Both were excellent, but the short rib was exceptional. Likely one of our best dining experiences in Canada

I was surprised at how few selections were available on the menu. Conversely , there was an excellent selection of wines by the glass as well as by the bottle. We had a very pleasant Sauvignon blanc. Poor selection of appetizers…cheese plate had 3 relatively small portions. Warm octopus salad was delicious as the octopus was braised to be very tender . a bit soggy with dressing though. My companions had the home-made spaghetti with truffles which was delicious . Ambiance on a Saturday night felt a little flat. Wait staff were superb and warm however. Would I return? Probably not , given all the other available restaurants with wider choices.

Had really delicious wine (Bordeaux), appe (foie gras oyster - super yum!) and meal (halibut special). Service at the bar was friendly. Was a little pricy but at least everything was a delight with a warm and festive atmosphere even on a Sunday night.
