This is NOT a 4 star hotel.
It may have been once, but is certainly not now.
Location is convenient for metro & airport.
Check in was prompt.
Hotel needs a deep clean.
We stayed 5 nights & saw the same rubbish on the floor the whole of our stay.
Edges of carpets have deep dust.
Display cabinets have thick dust.
Poolside full of weeds.
Swimming pool dangerous as visibility near on zero (I couldn’t see my own legs whilst in the pool) the ‘life guard’ spent the whole time in the corner, head down colouring in & watching her IPad!
The room was tired, chipped & needed a deep clean.
Could not & would not recommend this hotel.

We have stayed here many times over the years and have always enjoyed our stay. This time however we found the hotel to be completely unkept. There was dirt and garbage on the floors outside the elevator. Our room while clean had broken handles on the furniture and the fridge was broken. We were in the renovated tower…We received no towels and had to beg to finally receive them. We found out after our first night that the hotel does not provide housekeeping. To make matters worse the lifeguard or attendant was so rude at the pool. She barely acknowledged us as it interrupted her colouring book time. When we asked for towels she merely grunted and said “only one towel allowed”.
Tried to speak to the general manager but she was just as rude and uncaring. I have never complained before about a hotel stay and have never written a review good or bad but thought people should be made aware of just how utterly awful our stay was. The management clearly doesn’t care about the property nor it’s guests.

If this hotel was downtown, it could compete with the highly rated (and much more costly) chains. Comfortable bed, almost no noise from outside, well-furnished bathroom, with hotel bathrobes. The staff was friendly and helpful, the TV had a good assortment of channels, the room temperature was comfortable on a hot summer day. The internet was free but not too fast. Ruby Foos has two restaurants within the property, and a very nice, large outdoor pool.

Here’s the thing about location: you’re not downtown, and the neighborhood is semi-modern North American highway sprawl. But, you are a 5 minute walk from the excellent Metro, which gets you to the centre of the city in about a half hour. Plus, a surprising assortment of restaurants are close to Ruby Foos that you’d also see as downtown landmarks.

One thing about Montreal: I always leave saying I’ll be back soon. I’ll definitely check out Ruby Foos as a preferred place to stay again.
